If there's anything to be said about divorce... it sucks. In so many ways! But choosing Michael Jonsson as my mediator was the absolute best choice I could have made. In comparing other folks' experiences through the divorce process, I mentioned to my ex time and time again how lucky we were to ...have fallen into such capable hands. We agreed on that. And through divorce proceedings!!!! How often do divorcing folks agree on things? Right? Beyond the technical knowledge Michael possesses and his expertise in children as a child advocate, he taught me a lot about how to communicate to the man I had been with for almost 17 years. Both in and out of the mediation office. I believe we both benefited and came out much stronger thanks to the work we did in those hours of work at the Sacramento Divorce Solutions office. The coaching I was able to receive individually was priceless. Keep in mind, some mediators will not communicate AT ALL without both parties present. I cannot phantom working like that. There were times I needed to be talked off the ledge, angry emails exchanged that needed dissecting and Michael was there though it all. With understanding and compassion - and a gentle kick in the pants when I needed it. In conclusion, I don't believe I'd be as happy and strong as I am right now without this process having been handled the way it did.

I choose Mike after getting price quotes from a few different places, although his prices were similar to everyone else, his responsiveness was the reason I chose to go with him. He emailed me back very quickly, and we spoke on the phone and scheduled an appt. for a few days later. My husband and I ...had already figured out 99% of everything already, but I wanted to hire a professional to make sure that all the paperwork got done correctly (and quickly!) and to help make certain that we didn't have any loopholes in the agreement that could cause problems after the divorce is finalized. Mike was very professional, and was his coworker Hellen. He walked my husband and I through everything that could be contested and turned what I thought would be very simple into about 20 pages of paperwork for the judge to read. He was very throrough, and since he was acting as a mediator, he recommended that we each have our own lawyers look over everything before we signed (which I did), small changes were recommended, and he was very quick in making the changes. I'm so glad I had Mike and Hellen to guide us through this process because I'm sure I would have been a nutcase trying to do it alone, and although it costs money, it was worth every cent to me. The judge signed within 3 weeks of it being submitted to the court, and I credit the quickness both to the court and to Mike having done a thorough enough job that the Judge didn't have any questions because everything was so well laid out. I hope to never need Mike's services again, but I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a mediator for a divorce.
