Thank you for visiting my profile on Avvo!  I have been a practicing attorney in the greater Sacramento area for nearly twenty years.  I graduated law school in 1995 from McGeorge School of Law, part of University of the Pacific.  I went into solo practice just a few months later in 1996.

I strive to provide each client with personalized, professional legal services provided at reasonable rates.  I work closely my clients to create an intelligent strategy that will achieve their goals while working within their budget.  I can be aggressive when appropriate and necessary but equally comfortable resolving matters peacefully through settlement channels.  I am honest and strive to maintain timely communication and updates in every case.

I offer discounted rates on family law cases for low income clients.  I also offer unbundled legal services (aka a la carte) at a reasonable cost for clients who are representing themselves but need limited assistance.

Please contact me for a confidential, low cost consultation.  At the consultation you will meet directly with me at my office.  We will review the history of your case, your goals and legal rights, court procedure, any trouble spots that jump out and I will try to answer any questions you have.  Consultations are generally available in the afternoon or early evening.  I will try to schedule around your work hours if possible.  Telephone consultations are also available for long distance clients.  The cost is $100 for up to an hour.  There's no obligation or sales pressure.

Review of Law Office of Michael W Crosson
I contacted Michael for assistance with a child custody case. I am a Senior IT professional who resides in a remote area and was looking for an Attorney who was familiar working remote/over the internet and had extensive experience in family law and was IT savvy. What made me decide to choose Michael? Well see for yourself at his website at For me Michael was the perfect fit! He was a Court appointed Minors counsel, was comfortable working with long distance clients via internet, and was the Chair of Technology section of the Sacramento Co. Bar for 3 years! I felt very confident after reading his credentials I was approaching the Attorney I needed! I was not wrong! He is very patient, honest, caring, responsive, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and professional. He was aggressive in representation and negotiation of my case, top notch skills! He is a straight shooter and was up front about what I needed to do on my own part and when it needed to be accomplished. He supported and guided me every step of the way through a very stressful and difficult situation and made it clear the details of the case were of the utmost importance. He helped me obtain clarity on what was needed as the case progressed and was not lax on providing digital copies of any documents needed. Michael does not outsource any work to paralegals or secretaries which was a plus for me as any communications I had with Michael were from him, and were prompt. If you find yourself in a situation requiring legal representation I highly recommend Mr. Michael Crosson! I can't say enough good things about him in this review. If you are looking and find yourself on the fence, don't hesitate, contact him!

Got good results in my custody case
A friend suggested I hire Michael to help with a custody case. My ex and I really didn't see eye to eye on anything and we went round and round trying to deal with it ourselves. Finally I had enough and was ready to go to court. Michael was very knowledgeable about family law and listened to my issues. He gave me my options and we discussed the best to handle my situation in detail. After mediation and court I was happy with the results. He was prepared and professional. My bill was a little higher than I expected, but not unfair. It was well worth it to have more peace now. Thanks Michael!

The Lawyer You Need!
These are my comments pertaining to Michael W. Crosson serving as my attorney. The difficulty in appointing a Divorce Attorney could be very time consuming and frustrating at times. First of all, you don't know which one to trust or feel confident that he or she will do a good job for you. Michael was highly recommended to me ,My first impression of Michael was that he appeared to be as gentle as a teddy bear. At first this was a concern. But after working with him and watching him perform his job in court, the teddy bear became fierce with a growl. Michael did an excellent job as my attorney. I was asked to provide a lot of input and paperwork which I was not excited about. What's important here is that you have Michael that will listen to your concern and be assertive when needed in court. He is a friend and a lawyer I can trust.

Michael Crosson in review
I am not writing this review in the beginning of a difficult legal situation, I am writing it 6 months out from the rescue that Mr. Crosson guided us through. We had just navigated a successful loan mod on our home of 14 yrs when we were served with a lawsuit from a busines creditor. We thought we had done everything as rightly as possible and were suddenly faced with a whole new set of possibilities that were almost all bad. Michal Crosson was, in our opinion, the logical, objective, clarity of thought we needed to make some major decisions. His perspective is one of data and reality and not of emotionality and fear. He helped us weigh out every scenario and let us be the final decision makers. Once we had really come to terms with what we were dealing with we secured Mr. Crosson as our legal representative and I am thankful for that choice. We have been through a difficult set of circumstances and have come out the other side and are in a fantastic situation now. He made it clear to us that the details of the case were of utmost importance. He helped us get clarity on what we needed as we went along. I would highly reccommend him if you are in a debt or lawsuit situation!

Review from Jay S Wells
Michael handled my divorce shortly after law school. He lead a team of three attorneys including himself in a complex case. He made sure throughout the case that everyone stayed on track at that the proof needed to win our point was provided and correct. In court he would make sure our issues got heard and filed motions on time. Since this time he has handled many different issues for me with great success. Jay S Wells
