She called me a Jerk.

I did not have an outstanding bankruptcy experience with Lindsay and I think it is imperative that I share my story. Towards the end of the bankruptcy process Lindsay’s office sent me something I had questions on so I called her. When I ask her if it was necessary seeings how my case was already ...filed, she got defensive. Lindsay quickly deflected from the letter and said something like ~I’ve never had anyone else get this angry about the letter before~. Now the conversation is about my emotional reaction to this letter instead of the letter itself. On that call Lindsay and I both talked over each other. We both raised our voices. I backed off and let Lindsay speak. After she was done speaking I said “May I speak now?” She replied along the lines of ~Yeah, as long as you’re not going to be a jerk~. I said “Lindsay I’m not calling you names.” She then replied along the lines of ~I didn’t call you a jerk, I said if you’re not going to be a jerk~. Not only did Lindsay call me a jerk, she didn’t seem to care about my thought process or feelings. I don’t feel like she ever trusted me or my word. Lindsay was condescending and patronizing towards me. She made me feel small. In my experience when Lindsay gets questioned on something she trumps up with her own set of facts and then hides behind legalese, deflection, and name calling. Is my debt clear? Yes. Do I think my bankruptcy was filed properly? Yes. Do I feel like I was respected during the bankruptcy process? Absolutely not. I had traumatizing bankruptcy experience with Lindsay that will live with me for years. She never apologized for calling me a jerk.

Lindsay Is Outstanding!

We hired Lindsay based on the high marks and reviews on her website . She was all and even more than was described and above and beyond what we expected. She was professional, confident, patient and clearly comprehends the laws- inside and out. She put me at ease with her prompt and clear responses,... her kind and gentle manner and her unwavering accountability and consistency. She made me feel secure and safe and I slowly began to realize that she was setting me and us up for success at every turn by her calm demeanor and steady and meticulous work. She made a difficult process run as smooth and seamless as possible. I am forever grateful for Lindsay's finesse, skill and brilliance in law and the process and also in making me feel like I was a smart and significant person. A person and situation that was important and mattered. I feel more than fortunate to have found Lindsay and to have had her on my team. I now can definitively say- Lindsay is an outstanding attorney and person!

Knowledgeable, Dependable and Caring

After interviewing with 6 other bankruptcy lawyers, I immediately hired Lindsay Smith after an initial consultation. Lindsay's expert guidance, accuracy and supportive approach was exactly what I needed. Lindsay let me know that I was misinformed about bankruptcy guidance provided by other attorneys.... As a self-employed business owner, I was very anxious that I would not meet the criteria for filing. When I gave Lindsay the facts, she told me that she expected it would be easy for me to be granted a Chapter 7 bankruptcy discharge. She was right and everything went seamlessly. Additionally, Lindsay was able to discharge my student loan bankruptcy on a private student educational loan in an adversarial proceeding. I didn't expect to win this one, nor did anyone else (including attorneys) think that I would win. Private student loans are extremely difficult to discharge. The fact that the judge ruled in my favor shows that Lindsay is an outstanding attorney. While no one ever wants to declare bankruptcy, sometimes a "fresh start" is what is needed and Lindsay is the best lawyer you can find.

Very professional

Lindsay was very patient and personable through our entire backruptcy and after discharge, still there with our questions. We definetly recommend her for anyone looking for a fresh start.

Thank you Lindsay!

I hired Lindsay based soley on these reviews and I could not be happier with her services. She made the difficult process very understandable and easy to navigate. It was a great convenience to complete most of the work via email or phone. Her fees were reasonable and straight forward...no surprises.... I highly recommend Lindsay!
