I was charged with a few crimes in 2014 and Meyers was appointed my attorney. Since the first time i met him he asked me to wave time and he never came up with a defense. He told me no matter what id do double digits. He never tried just went along with the DA and i got 14 years. I was in county 18 m...
Due to the attorney-client privilege, I cannot respond in much detail to your criticism of my work on your cases. I am sorry you are disappointed. I can only say that your exposure to incarceration was much greater than 14 years and the cases were not defensible. It is still my opinion that you did the right thing. Finally, the public defenders office handled all Prop 47 reduction applications in Stanislaus County including yours. I followed up with the Dep. PD in charge and he advised that your offenses did not qualify. If you would like to discuss this matter further in private, feel free to give me a call.

Days before an important hearing I called Richard about my case. Richard didn’t know who I was or what my case was about. I notified Richard of me calling him days prior and when I called him, he yelled at me and hung up. 2 days before the hearing he quit via email. Afterward I discovered he did no...
George also posted a negative review on my FB business page. It's the only negative review there as it is here. I will leave his post up here. I believe that if you're going to be in business, you have to take the good with the bad and people are entitled to share their views even if you don't agree with them. I think the better approach is to keep the conversation transparent and simply respond. In this case, I strongly disagree with George's characterization of the representation I provided and I especially dispute his version of our interactions. The attorney-client privilege prevents me from discussing publicly any of George's comments to me and the many text messages he sent to me during the course of the representation so I can not be specific as to those facts. That said, I will respond to George's post to the extent possible. I was retained to litigate a DMV hearing of behalf of George. It involved a very narrow issue that I have litigated successfully numerous times over the years. I agree that it is an important hearing but the issue is not complex. I initially reset the date of the hearing to a later date which benefitted George. I was fully prepared to commence the hearing on the new date that I had set, however as the hearing date drew closer, it became apparent to me that, based on conversations between George and I, there was a breakdown in the attorney-client relationship. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, the representation cannot proceed because that would open the attorney up to a claim of bias or malpractice should the client not like the result of the representation. I therefore withdrew from the representation in writing (see actual email text to George below), fully refunded George's fee despite the time I had spent on his case, and properly notified DMV of my withdrawal. This was done 7 days (not 2 as George claims) before the actual hearing date leaving George plenty of time to either contact the DMV himself to reset it or hire another attorney. Those are the documented facts. email text to George -"I have submitted the attached letter to DMV and requested that they contact you to make further arrangements. However, I think it would be wise for you to contact Stockton Driver Safety at 209-948-7715 rather than wait for them to contact you. The refund check is in the mail. Good luck." Finally, please note that George's comments are not at all consistent with other reviews that I have received here and on other social media. Again, I am sorry that George feels compelled to post negative comments here and elsewhere about my law practice. Perhaps he is frustrated because the DMV hearing did not go well for him after I withdrew. If so, I can certainly empathize with those feelings. That being said, I adhere to high ethical and professional standards in my law practice and I welcome any inquiry that may be initiated by George from the State Bar of California of which I have been a member for over 18 years without a single record of discipline.

I was looking at 3 felonies over this DUI case . I immediately hired Richard Myers for my case. The DA wanted to give me a strike and prison time. Thank God I had Mr. Myers on my side defending me in my case. After a year in my case I got two felonies dismissed and the other down to a misdemeanor wit...

I will hire Mr. Myer over anyone else. I hired him twice for my son and I got great results and prompt service. He kept me well informed and he did not give any false hopes. Other law firms I talked to were not up front or helpful at all. They also wanted to nickel and dime me for every little thing ...

"Rick Meyer and I had co-defendants on a very serious case. Rick went above and beyond for his client and filed a powerful legal motion. Ultimately, Rick was able to secure a very good result for his client. I strongly encourage anyone seeking advice on a criminal matter to speak with Rick Meyer."
