Lisa Thiessen, a GREAT attorney!!!!

Lisa is a very knowledgeable, determined, and focused attorney! !! I highly recommend her. She helped me in so many ways with the custody of my little girl. Lisa is very informative and lets you know what to expect. No words can never express how thankful i am..... :)

"A TRUE PROFESSIONAL"

"Lisa shows a complete understanding, and knowledge of family law. She returns inquiries promptly, even when asked to do so late at night, and days off !!!" I am completely satisfied with how she handled my family law case. I've hired several attorney's in the past, and she's the best. Thank-you, Lis...a. :)

Worst lawyer ever

Please save your money by not hiring her. She has no knowledge on Family law. Entire team is full of unskilled people and don't know their duties well. I followed the reviews from here and hired her. I had to hire another lawyer in place of her after seeing the way she deals in court.

Lack of communication

I hired Lisa almost a year ago to represent me in a family law - divorce. Over time, I became very disappointed in the level of service and communication I received. When I asked questions about my case, asked for guidance, and asked what I should be preparing for court there were many problems.... For example, I got answers that did not address the question I asked - the answers were off topic. As time progressed, I got fewer and fewer responses at all - phone calls were not returned, e-mails were not answered, and phone conferences I made through her secretary were continuously delayed, rescheduled and eventually cancelled. The few things she did tell me to prepare for court were irrelevant and not used. In front of the judge, the other party's lawyer spoke frequently with exaggerations - but Lisa did not respond and did not assist in refuting claims. I never even got a basic explanation of the overall divorce process. She was rarely with me in the court building while I was sitting there waiting and hoping that we would use our time to discuss details and prepare. When she was physically near me in the court house, she was often calling and texting other clients or dealing with financial issues through her paralegal back at the office. She did not clearly explain what happened during / after our court session - that the outcome of that day was to become my final Order. She and I kept talking about coming back to court, so I was left under the impression I could agree to a preliminary arrangement and come back to push for more. When I e-mailed LT about inaccuracies in the Order, saying we need a plan of action to fix ‘these specific things’ (my ex even e-mailed that she agrees those certain things need to be fixed), Lisa did not respond the first couple times I called / e-mailed, then eventually responded that we needed to contact the other lawyer and work on it but never took action. Her paralegal / support wrote our initial response documents - they had many errors. It had the wrong city as my new residence, spelled my wife’s name wrong despite it being clearly spelled and typed in the petitioner’s box, wrote a list that included the number 23 twice and skipped other numbers, had several incomplete sentences, and had other grammar / spelling errors throughout. The final product was unprofessional and reflected low quality / attention to detail. Five months ago I tried to get a sub of attorney, which requires LT's signature. Each time I contacted her about the sub, I either got no response or was told by a secretary that she signed and returned it to my new lawyer or that she never received the request. I had to contact LT and her support staff several times over 5 months to get it done. Then I received a bill for services that were not rendered. The alleged services included forwarding me documents (no documents were attached) as well as “advising me to get a sub of attorney” – the very thing I had been trying to accomplish for the last 5 months. I was told twice over that 5 month period by LT that the sub would be done “next day”, neither time did that occur.
