Catherine Ann Wiehe

Catherine Wiehe was hired to perform an accounting calculation as a neutral expert in my case. She took several months to get started and made glaring mistakes which she refused to correct, even when presented with clear evidence of copy-paste and other errors. To my knowledge, Catherine Wiehe is... not a CPA, but tends to get recommended for such calculations, typically performed by CPA’s, by Santa Clara County settlement conference officers. She charges a flat rate equivalent to approximately 4 hours of CPA’s time, which sounds attractive in litigation, but you’ll get what you pay for. Mistakes are costly because attorneys are kept on emails and you end up paying significantly more than you had expected, or you end up hiring your own. I am unaware of her work as attorney. As a neutral forensic accounting expert on my case I had a disastrous experience and would recommend avoiding her.

Catherine was my accountant for a protracted, contentious 5-year long divorce. She and her husband, Jon, worked as a team. She was honest and straight-up with me, letting me know which claims were worth fighting for. Also unlike the lawyers, she made me feel like I was a priority. She worked late nights and weekends when necessary. She was accessible and responsive. When my husband gave me a 200-page accountant's report a few days before Labor Day and just one week before our hearing, Catherine made time over the Labor Day weekend to prepare for the case. Though I was not always happy with things, I came to realize over the years that that was more due to the nature of the bitter war and not any fault of hers . She and Jon were able to show me that while always treating me with the utmost respect. My ordeal is now finally over, and I believe the outcome was a fair one. I would highly recommend Catherine and Jon to anyone who needs financial accounts traced/analyzed.
