Houman Dashtizad

For over 13 years now, Houman Dashtizad has represented the injured victims of negligent parties and helped them recover the compensation they deserve for their injuries. His maxim is that “every case deserves to be a winner” and all legally appropriate measures should be taken for success. Since law school, Houman’s philosophy has been that individuals who have already been wronged by the actions or negligence of another person deserve a friend in their hour of need. Accordingly, they should not be obligated to pay the attorney whom they have chosen to pursue their case until results have been achieved and compensation has been recovered by their attorney. In law school and upon graduation, he was happy to see that this was the standard practice in personal injury law. It was this aspect of personal injury law, combined with Houman’s affinity and natural curiosity for the medical sciences, which are an integral part of this specialty, that led him to specialize in it. Houman believes that mastery of a case requires compassion and complete devotion to his client, the law, and the facts of the particular case. It is this mastery that brings successful results to his cases.

Houman arrived in the United States with his family in 1985 at the age of 11. After spending one year in Louisville, Kentucky, he moved with his family to Northern California and attended middle school and high school in Walnut Creek, California. He received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1996 and his Master of Public Administration from California State University at Hayward in 1997. He received a Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego in 2001.

Houman is an avid reader of books ranging in topics from law to medicine, psychology, history, economics, and politics. He aims to finish one book a week and likes listening to many of them in audiobook format while he works out at the gym. He feels that a lawyer’s education should not end in law school and that every opportunity should be taken to enhance one’s knowledge during the day. In every case, one may wish for a cabinet of advisors to offer perspectives on strategy, as they do for the president of the United States. Fortunately, the top minds of this country and of the world have written books that offer their ideas and strategies. It is these ideas that give a broader perspective to every case and ultimately offer the winning approach, argument, and presentation.
