Gretchen Boger represented me in my marital dissolution case over a 3.5 year period. These years have been, unquestionably, the most difficult of my life, and it is no exaggeration to state that Gretchen played a significant role in helping me not just achieve outstanding results in the end, but als...o endure the difficulty of this period. She has a very balanced personality which makes her an outstanding professional and personal well-wisher at the same time, and I've never found her to treat my case with an attitude of business-as-usual. Gretchen is also extremely thorough and punctual. Never have I placed a call or written an email to her that was not almost immediately responded to. Despite the demanding schedule of a great attorney, her level of promptness is remarkable. She is also extremely through. In the long time this case dragged on -- due in no part to any negligence from Gretchen -- I never found her to forget or overlook a single detail, or bill me for a matter that had been discussed in the past, though it had newly arisen once again. The value of her service is significant, and given its quality, her costs are extremely reasonable. On the day of my child custody drama, Gretchen called me early in the morning to personally coach me on how best to represent my interest. With her strategic thinking, tone, posturing, and directing the case to a position of strength for me, I achieved everything I wanted. She has always been compassionate of my situation, guiding and advising me well throughout the whole ordeal, even going as far as encouraging me, when it seemed appropriate, to have direct negotiations with my ex-spouse, though such an action deprived her and her firm of additional billing. In other words, she keeps the client's interest foremost in mind, and provides a fantastic example of what an ideal client/attorney relationship should look like. Simply put: Gretchen is a world-class attorney. She is fair, knowledgeable, strategic, and always goes out of her way to keep clients informed and protected. We hired Gretchen for a family law case that was a mess. The ex-wife was crazy (literally) and the family court believed her lies and exaggerations. Gretchen was methodical, very prepared and knew the facts of our case well. She turned the case around. The case has been going on for 9 years and ...rather than focusing on the minutia, she was able to show patterns of behavior over time that illustrated that the mother was not a fit parent. It was her knowledge of the facts and history of the case that allowed her to clearly present our case. She knowledge of the law coupled with a crisp and clear writing and argument style makes it easy for Judges with little time and patients to follow. As a result of her preparation and clear style the judge looked to her as the authority in the case over the opposing attorney. This creates a huge advantage. Rather than being shaken by bad rulings from judges who do not know or follow the law, she is able to change direction mid-stream to get the best results. She is persistent and tough when needed and agreeable and compromising when needed. And best of all, she has a sense of humor. In a messy family law case, you need a sense of humor.
