Actual quote from this person: “Thank you so much for hosting me yesterday and please tell Ms. Hogan that I've never met a lawyer with such a pleasant, kind, and caring demeanor as hers. She is very impressive (and I know quite a few lawyers).” The statements made in this review are false. What’s going on here is that this person tried to get a discount that he was not entitled to, after the fact. Although the person is using a fake name, the real person behind this review contacted us and was quoted a special limited time discounted rate, but he did not make an appointment, choosing to interview other attorneys first. A month later, he contacted us again for a second opinion on his problem, and this time he wanted to make the appointment, and he agreed to pay the higher fee that he is complaining about. He was clearly told that the discount had expired and was not available anymore. He agreed to go forward, said he was happy to pay the higher price, and he did pay the higher price because he wanted the appointment. At the appointment, we gave him great guidance on how to present his case, and where his current attorney was falling short. When he asked us to take over his case, we told him that he had waited too long to retain new counsel and there was inadequate time for us to jump into his impending complex jury trial case (coming up in less than 3 months,) as his existing attorney had not prepared the case or interviewed any of the over 100 witnesses he said needed to testify. It was only then that he demanded the claimed $200 discount. He then committed extortion on us by threatening to file quasi criminal complaints and repeat false allegations all over the internet if we did not refund $200 out of the money that he had agreed to pay. We tried to resolve the matter with him directly, but he refused. Currently, the complaining party has been referred to the District Attorney for prosecution. We never had any of this person's original documents. He told Ms. Hogan that he had made extra copies of all of the documents he gave her and he didn't need them back. It was not until several weeks later that he asked us for those papers back, and they were immediately returned to him. Clearly, this difficult person is not an accurate reporter of events.
