I was visiting San Jose for a few months when I got into some unexpected trouble. I was freaking out big time because I didn't know anyone there or how the system worked. This lawyer had the opportunity to request a dismissal of the case based on a fabricated police report. He had other reasons to request a dismissal, which probably would have been granted by the judge. The worst, though, is that he intentionally kept me uninformed of the progress and legal details ...of my case. I was meeting with him one time and saw a document that gave wrong information. I asked him about it and he slammed it shut, saying we could wait until another time to discuss that document. It turned out that the document was key to my case and that, if he had discussed it with me, I would not have even had a hearing. Also regarding communication, I once had the need to call him. We had a bad telephone connection, which he repeatedly blamed on my phone. I hung up and called him again and we had the same bad connection. Turned out that the source of the bad connection was his cell phone. His whole demeanor was rude and accusatory. I never felt that he was representing my interests, that he was just going through the legal process so he could collect his fee and move on to the next case. I would never recommend that anyone hire this incompetent lawyer for any kind of case.
