Michel Rene Huff

In December of 2022 I retained Michel Huff to handle a case in which a Costco tire center released my car to an unknown person under suspicious circumstances. An out-of-court settlement with Costco was the goal. Other than the initial phone call, after paying him a $5000 retainer, I never again he...ard back directly from him. I had several phone conversations with his PI, and some messages on his Clio website. Between February 2023 and April 2023 I phoned Huff's office three times to ask for a status report. Each time I was told my message would be passed along. Each time I did not receive any communication from Mr. Huff or his office, and was told that he was very busy. This pattern led me to believe that my case was being ignored. So, I phoned his office and told them so, and asked for a refund of my retainer. They did issue me a check, and an itemized statement listing services rendered and their cost of which were deducted from my refund. The problem is that I was never informed that these services had been performed. Had I known that they were actually doing something, I may not have released Huff. Based on my experience with this attorney I would not recommend him.

Michel gave me a free consultati...on (he was unable to represent me as he was in a different area than me) and gave me legal advice, different options and paths I could take, walked me through what the court process would be like, educated me more so I wouldn't be intimidated by whatever lawyer I chose, intimidated by the average prices for representation, and was just overall extremely helpful and incredibly understanding. It was unfortunate that Michel was unable to represent me but because he took the time to talk to me and make me feel better about the whole custody process, I was able to make an educated decision about a lawyer, the options I chose and ended up receiving 50/50 custody with my child's father and was able to finally see my child after 9 months of his father holding him from me.
