Biography
Jim Butler handles cases of career ending injuries in personal injury, workers compensation and social security cases. He represents members of many of the building trades; electricians, carpenters, laborers, boilermakers etc. Jim is a past president of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, and currently serves as president of the California Applicant's Attorneys Association. He has been recognized as being in the top 5% of practicing attorneys in Northern California by Superlawyers yearly since 2006. Jim is AV Preeminent rated by Martindale Hubbell. This is the highest possible rating for Legal Ability and Ethical Standards. He is a certified specialist in Worker's Compensation. Jim's focus is on litigation, legislation and education. Jim frequentlly teaches other lawyers on a variety of subjects, and also lectures frequently before labor unions on rights and remedies availible to injured workers.
Jim has practiced at his own firm since 2009. Previously he was a trial team leader at the Veen Firm (1987-2009), and practiced with the Legal Aid Society of Alameda County (1982-1987).
