Biography
Mikayla brings zealous advocacy, extensive problem-solving skills, thoughtful strategy, and an ability to see the big picture to every case she litigates. She cares deeply about her clients and is passionate about ensuring abusers, institutions, and individuals are held accountable for the harm they have caused others. Mikayla fearlessly tackles challenging cases and will work tirelessly to ensure her clients receive the best possible results. She focuses her practice on sexual abuse and sexual assault matters and personal injury litigation.
Mikayla represents both adult and minor survivors of sexual abuse and assault in cases involving sexual misconduct by doctors, teachers, coaches, clergy members, massage therapists, rideshare drivers, and other individuals in positions of authority. She has worked on highly publicized cases with multi-million-dollar exposure as well as cases in tandem with criminal investigations. Mikayla recently served as lead plaintiff’s liaison counsel in a case involving over 80 survivors, most of whom identified as LGBTQ+, who alleged they were sexually assaulted by a university physician at their student health center.
Mikayla also represents individuals who have been injured because of another’s carelessness. She has experience obtaining excellent results for clients who have suffered serious personal injuries in car accidents, bike accidents, truck accidents, product liability matters, medical malpractice, and slip and falls due to the negligence or intentional conduct of another. Mikayla further represents tenants in San Francisco and throughout the Bay Area in a wide variety of matters, including affirmative lawsuits against landlords for uninhabitable conditions, tenant harassment, wrongful eviction, and violations of local rent ordinances.
Mikayla has a proven track record of successfully handling cases with compassion and unparalleled work ethic — through both settlement and trial — in order to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients.
Mikayla currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Consumer Attorneys of California (“CAOC”), an organization that represents the interests of 39 million California consumers and seeks accountability from those who do wrong. She also serves as the Membership and Outreach Co-Chair for the Diversity Equity & Inclusion Committee of CAOC and is on the Membership Committee for the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association. Mikayla has been featured in Plaintiff Magazine and has been honored as a Super Lawyer Rising Star from 2016 to 2019 and a Super Lawyer from 2020 to 2023. She is also a member of the American Association for Justice.
Mikayla earned her law degree from the University of California, Davis, School of Law. During law school, Mikayla was awarded national membership in the Order of the Barristers, an organization recognizing individuals with excellent oral and trial advocacy skills. She was Top Oral Advocate of her Moot Court class, and she served as Competitions Chair for the Moot Court Board. Mikayla was also the Senior Interview Editor for the UC Davis Business Law Journal.
When she is not practicing law, Mikayla enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
