Jennifer Young

Jennifer Young brings a wealth of experience to Jacobs Law Group SF. She regularly litigates complex commercial and business disputes, as well as handles technology, securities, and intellectual property litigation in state and federal courts, courts of appeal, and arbitrations. She also provides strategic and practical business advice to her clients, including drafting contracts and forming business entities. Jennifer has been with Jacobs Law Group SF since 2012. Prior to joining Jacobs Law Group SF, Jennifer worked at several corporate, securities, and litigation firms in San Francisco, including The Crone Law Group, and Cole-Frieman & Mallon LLP (formerly Mallon PC), where she also assisted with complex litigation matters. 

Jennifer has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of cases. Currently, she is counsel for plaintiff in a large lawsuit against a venture capital firm disputing the division of millions of dollars in profits. She recently resolved a medical battery and medical malpractice case, successfully securing a 7-digit settlement for the plaintiff. Previously, she represented an artist in an intellectual property dispute and recovered monetary damages as well as all of her intellectual property based on claims for breach of contract, fraudulent inducement, and intentional interference against a large corporation who misappropriated her intellectual property. Jennifer also represents a prominent real estate and investments firm, routinely providing business and transactional advice and drafting numerous contracts and partnership agreements. 

Jennifer earned her law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, where she was on the Dean’s list. During law school, she also served as the Lt. Governor, 14th Circuit, of the ABA Law Student Division. Her studies focused on business, corporate, and securities law. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics from U.C. Davis in 2003. 

Before attending law school, Jennifer spent several years working in the financial industry, including at hedge fund broker-dealer Altegris Investments, where she focused on operations and legal compliance matters. Jennifer was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese. She now lives in San Francisco with her husband and their extremely dapper cat, Vito Corleone.
