Amy Sommer Anderson

I hired Amy Anderson for a fashion patent in 2015. She was referred to me by the San Francisco attorney referral service. I found my patent was abandoned in 2018 She totally ignores all communication from me. I found out all her addresses are UPS stores. I want back the over 3k I sent her for nothi...ng!!!!!!

I worked with Amy in filing IP in the field of material science/engineering. The IP involved quite a bit of chemistry and materials with applications in display, QD, PV and battery -fields. What I really needed was an attentive lawyer, (a) who also knows and/or understands some chemistry, materials..., and current technology, (b) who makes me cautious about all the potential pitfalls as IP deals with industry and I am a professor (so, I am used to living in academic ivory tower), (c) who can offer quick turn over through all the corrections (d) who is affordable (the specific IP, Amy was hired for, was paid out of my own pocket, not from the university/company; so I did not have unlimited funds). Amy provided all. I especially was impressed by Amy's (i) critical suggestions, (ii) ability to make me think more to make the IP more thorough than where I started from, and (iii) ease in accepting her deficit of knowledge in certain technical scientific aspects (I really appreciated this. A lawyer is not expected to know all the details of the research aspect in a particular scientific topic. But their effort to look knowledgeable, when they are not, end up wasting time and my/institution's money. With Amy, this was totally avoided, which, perhaps, helped to keep the cost low.)

I have known Amy for the past 3 years and consider her a friend as well as my intellectual property attorney. When we first met, I was trying to figure out how to obtain several patents and had no idea how to proceed, or who I could trust. At that time, I had talked to several patent attorneys. Mo...st of them didn't show any real interest in my project. Luckily I found Amy. She was very responsive and I could tell she had true interest in my project. We worked well together and she proved she was someone I could trust to provide sound advice, respond quickly, and provide high quality in her work product. Amy made the patent process understandable by clearly explaining each step from start to finish. Since our first meeting, we have successfully put together a trademark, filed several patents, and have had many patents published. I now have a growing company based on my patented products, with increasing sales every day. I highly recommend Amy for any intellectual property needs.

My husband and I run a small business and we both have full-time employment as well. Amy has come to the rescue many times when we needed help with business contracts, employment law, family leave issues and severance packages. I was let go by an employer who offered me a pitiful severance package ...after being employed by the company for four years and cutting my maternity leave short to return to work. Amy helped negotiate the severance package to actually the amount I felt I was owed. Amy is whip smart, fast acting, and has a great bedside manner with her clients. I've referred Amy to many of my friends who had business or employment related issues and they have been very happy. I can't recommend Amy highly enough!
