Marvin Tadao Lew

       Marvin Lew has vigorously defended people charged with almost every possible offense. In his 12 years as a criminal defense advocate, he has successfully represented clients in jury trials on charges including petty theft, grand theft, driving under the influence, burglary, auto theft, robbery, sexual assault, kidnapping, and homicide. In addition to his extensive jury trial experience, Mr. Lew has successfully litigated and negotiated for his clients just about every type of charge, including narcotics offenses, embezzlement, assault, and murder.

        Mr. Lew’s death penalty defense experience resulted in him being featured as a guest speaker at the 2010 Capital Defense Seminar in Monterey, at which defense attorneys from around the state gather for the latest developments and strategy in defending death penalty murder cases.

        Widely respected amongst judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys alike for his keen attention to detail and comprehensive knowledge of the law, Mr. Lew has a reputation for leaving no stone unturned in defense of his clients.

        Mr. Lew’s deep commitment to civil rights and civil liberties began well before he attended law school. Originally from South Los Angeles, Mr. Lew moved to the Bay Area where he earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Berkeley in 1994. Thereafter, he volunteered at the A.C.L.U. of Northern California. He graduated cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1999, where he earned his J.D. With over a decade of criminal defense litigation experience, and a lifetime committed to fighting for people’s rights, Mr. Lew has what it takes to aggressively defend against any and all criminal charges.
