There were a few specific attributes I was looking for in an attorney whom I was going to hire to begin my divorce proceedings. 1. Attorney-Client relationship – an attorney who represents me and not just another divorce case, because every case is different, every partnership is unique, and a gen...eral rule is often not applicable. What impressed me the most about Rolf was he dedicated his time and effort at the beginning of the case and attentively listened, studied, learned, and understood who his client was and the specific circumstances of her case in order to tailor the representation. I have to say it was not an easy task for him considering that he had to gain an understanding of my decision-making perspectives, which in my case wasn’t easy, and to top that I had begun with lots of emotional baggage, disputes, and frustrations. His talent learned through experience, has proven to him that dissolving a partnership is not solely about financial separation, more importantly, is also about emotional separation, he artfully use a combination of intelligence and empathy. Attorney’s budget – an attorney that knows when to spent the money and when to be considered about the budget. Rolf, not only he never attempted to make my case about the money, but also he protected me from taking unreasonable risks and/or spending more money on the conflicts that had no merits. What moved me was his commitment to his client - he comforted me at times when I was concerned about sustaining my attorney’s budget, by ensuring that my representation will not be interrupted because of his fees. In addition, his law firm gives you a monthly report to where exactly the money was spent on.
