I have been married for 28 years.  We have seven children and two grandchildren.  Life is good in the Larsen home! 

I have been engaged in employment law for over 20 years now.  However, I learned early on that I could provide a greater value to clients by helping them prevent lawsuits.  I also learned that employers needed help with quality HR professionals. 

In 2001 I started Sierra HR Partners, Inc., a separate but ancillary company to my law firm.  Sierra HR is staffed with certified HR professionals who help my clients comply with the law.  The HR professionals are trained to identify issues that could create legal complications.  When that happens, I step in.  It has been a great partnership among my law firm, Sierra HR and our clients.  We can provide a better service at a good price, and make the workplace better for employees.  Everyone wins.

Committed to Excellence and a Vital Organizational Resource
Mr. Larsen has provided a life-line of support in the dynamic and complex environment that is part of conducting business in compliance with California as well as US Federal employment law with his depth of knowledge in these areas of law. In addition, his practice FLG&Z in collaboration with Sierra HR Partners provide low-cost, high-impact seminars/training/workshops to provide educational updates on employment law as well as opportunities to inform/upgrade an HR professional or Manager/Supervisor's knowledge/skills/abilities to levels of best practice from transactional perspectives for purposes of implementation as required to meet organizational goals while in compliance with Federal and/or State regulations. It is no secret that a higher standard of regulatory compliance is required in California...what may be one of the best kept secrets, however, is the wit and wisdom of Doug Larsen of FLG&Z.

"Very professional, knowledgeable, and great to work with"
Doug Larsen has been our employment law attorney for 12 years. I am the Director of HR for a company for which I have worked for 27 years. Doug has helped me through many personnel issues, first time terminations, reduction in forces, labor commissioner claims, and many other issues. He has always been professional, yet personable and very knowledgeable. He and his staff provide monthly "Legal Beagle Bagel Breakfast" workshops that have helped me and my staff over the years learn employment law policy do's and don'ts. Very helpful!

High Marks for Doug Larsen
Doug is great to work with. His approach and the firm's environment make working with him and his team a comfortable experience in potentially uncomfortable situations. He takes the time to thoroughly understand situations and issues--not only from the legal perspective, but from the real world practicality of running a business. He provides great advice and he includes his clients in working through issues as appropriate so that the relationship is a partnership and makes true sense for the particular business entity. Doug's focuses on prevention. In the area of employment law, he works with his clients to ensure that policies, education, etc are in place to protect the business from potential adverse action thereby making the workplace a good one for the business owner (leadership) and employees alike. Highly Competent Attorney!
Mr. Larsen is THE BEST! He always provided sound advice. He was extremely responsive. He was an excellent listener! He was sincere and he cared! I engaged him with caution, because one of his FLGZ Law Partners is not well respected in our community. But I now recommend Mr. Larsen with no reservations what-so-ever.
