Negotiate MEANS SURRENDER to the other party.

While considering the option to go to trial, I asked Ms. Morrison's staff about her experience as a trial lawyer; response: "She never goes to trial because she always negotiates". I later discovered that negotiating meant giving in to the other parties demands, threats, etc. rather than to fight ...on my behalf. I spent a year and half with a different attorney undoing the decisions that Ms Morrison chose to take in my case. My advice is to look elsewhere if faced with a tough opponent.

I completely disagree with this post. I believe I know who posted and, unfortunately, no matter what we did she was never happy. The statement that I never go to trial because I always negotiate is also not accurate in some respects. It is true that I seldom go to trial, however, I am always ready and willing to go to trial and, if necessary, do in fact go to trial. Going to trial is usually not in the best interests of the parties, but instead, lines the pockets of the lawyers which is not my ultimate goal. When you go to trial, someone will be unhappy and there is always risk. It is much better, if possible, to formulate a settlement where my client has some control over the outcome. With trial, you have no control. I stand by the way I handled this case.

I hired Ms. Morrison back in 2005 to represent me in a highly contested custody/move away case

I had full custody of my now 20 year old daughter, until I accepted a job in Los Angeles. That's when things went south, literally. The court decided against my move away request and the quack lawyer I had at the time did nothing but take my money and file motions that were not even relevant to the c...ase. I did not help my case either, I was highly emotional and had not been advised on what to expect in the 1st psych evaluation, that despite me telling the truth, my frantic demeanor was a mark against me, and I needed to calm down and keep my animated expressions to a minimum in the courtroom. Needless to say, things did not go well-that is until Ms.Morrison came into the picture. I was referred to Jennifer from a high profile attorney in LA. At our first meeting she took one look at me and gave me the 3rd degree-she does not represent unless she believes in you, which is usually unheard of when hiring representation. After passing her intense interview, she gave me a list of everything I had done wrong, I basically left with my tail between my legs-but damn, I also left, driving all the way back to LA knowing she was going to kick some __ for me. I was only 25 years old, and at the time I thought her critique harsh, but she was 100% right. She did me more favors than I can ever thank her for. Within 2 or 3 court hearings, a new psych eval was ordered, the case won, and my daughter was safely back with me in Los Angeles. The bottom line: Ms. Morrison is no nonsense and gets the job done. I have recommended her to many friends and colleagues and will continue to do so. She is the best and I am beyond grateful for her brutal honesty, ethical practices and fighting the good fight. Jennifer Morrison Rocks.

Post Judgment Resolution

Ms. Morrison was retained to help me resolve an outstanding issue following my divorce. Unfortunately, I had not used the services of an attorney when I went through my divorce. I was grateful for Ms. Morrison's knowledge, experience and resolution skills. She resolved my post dissolution real est...ate issue with precision and I really benefited from her legal intelligence and confident, honest representation. If you have a family law legal issue, I highly recommend Ms. Morrison and her staff.
