Andrew Weiss is an experienced civil mediator with over 40 years of litigation and trial experience, bringing a trial-tested, results-oriented perspective to dispute resolution. A longtime member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, he is widely recognized for both professional excellence and sound, practical judgment.
Since transitioning from trial practice in 2019, Mr. Weiss has focused exclusively on mediation through Weiss Mediation, handling a broad range of civil matters, including personal injury, business, real property, and employment disputes. He is known for thorough preparation, active engagement with counsel and parties, and a direct, candid approach that drives realistic case evaluation and resolution. Drawing on decades of courtroom experience, he works persistently with all parties to overcome impasse and bring even challenging cases to settlement.
Mr. Weiss has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in both medical malpractice defense and alternative dispute resolution and holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He has served as board member and Chair of the ADR Section of the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association. In addition to his private mediation practice, he regularly conducts settlement conferences for the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court.
