Biography
Andrew R. Weiss is a full-time California civil mediator with more than 45 years of legal experience, including 38 years as a litigator and trial lawyer. Based in California’s Central Coast, he mediates civil cases throughout California, both in person and by Zoom.
Andrew mediates a broad range of civil matters, including personal injury and wrongful death, business and commercial disputes, real property and real estate, construction, employment, professional liability, probate and trust, insurance and coverage, and other complex civil cases.
His extensive experience representing individuals, businesses, insurers, health care providers, and professionals gives him a trial-tested perspective on the risks, costs, and uncertainties that shape settlement decisions. His approach is direct, candid, practical, and focused on helping counsel and the parties realistically evaluate their positions and work toward resolution.
Andrew is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has been a member of ABOTA since 1995. He has been selected to the Super Lawyers list 21 times, including 14 selections in Northern California for Medical Malpractice Defense and 7 consecutive selections in Southern California for ADR/Mediation. He has served as a settlement conference judge pro tem for the San Luis Obispo Superior Court since 2019.
