I came to Ed for some estate planning, and at 4:00 in the afternoon he asked to keep my documents to review them since he had to leave at 5 for an appointment. That evening I had reservations about his billing practices and I called and asked to pick up my documents at 8 the next morning. He sent me a bill for $1200 for what I assumed was one hours work. Nothing was done on the documents. Very dissatisfied, I left and found another lawyer that I could trust. Since then I have used O'neill and Woolpert with very favorable results. They are fair, HONEST, and forthright with their billing and the services they offer. He is not a lawyer that I would ever recommend to anyone.
Edward E. Attala’s response:“I have been in practice for more than 20 years. I have never had a complaint with the California State Bar or participated in any type of fee arbitration regarding my bills. The claim that I am unscrupulous is inaccurate and unfair, to say the least. I welcome the client that wrote this review to contact my office to speak with me directly so that any issue regarding their bill can be resolved.”
