Matthew C. Clark

Matt Clark is a senior partner with the law firm Chain | Cohn | Clark, and has more than 15 years of experience in personal injury law. 

He has been named a "Rising Star" and "Super Lawyre" in Southern California by Super Lawyers Magazine, an honor bestowed upon only 2.5 percent of lawyers under the age of 40, was named one of the Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers, and honored as one of the 20 Under 40 People to Watch by Bakersfield Life Magazine.

He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University before attending law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.  While in law school, Matt was an active member of the school’s Mock Trial Competition Team. He is a graduate of the ABOTA National Trial College at Harvard Law School. He joined Chain | Cohn | Clark in 2006. 

Matt have obtained numerous six-, seven-, and eight-figure verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients, including a confidential $22.1 million pedestrian accident settlement and a $8 million wrongful death case involving a man who was struck and killed by a truck driver, who fell asleep at the wheel. He settled a $2 million dog bite case involving a young woman who was attacked by a Sheriff's K-9. He was also was part of the team at Chain | Cohn | Clark that helped secure a $10 million settlement on behalf of a client who suffered serious burn injuries in an oilfield accident.

He has served on the Board of Directors for Clinica Sierra Vista, on the Board of Directors for the San Joaquin Community Hospital Foundation (Adventist Health), and on the Advisory Board for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Kern County. He also is a board member for Children’s Advocates Resource Endowment (C.A.R.E.), a nonprofit that raises money for local children’s charities.
