Evan Christopher Vargas

I hired Evan Vargas for legal representation, including subpoenas and my client file. At first, he presented himself as friendly and professional, promptly returning calls and providing updates. However, after payment, his behavior changed drastically—communication became delayed, sporadic, and often... unresponsive. We have requested our files for over two weeks with no response. This lack of responsiveness caused significant delays in my case. Attorneys have a professional obligation to promptly release client files upon request, which I experienced difficulty enforcing in this instance. If I had to rate this attorney, I would give 0 out of 5 stars. Due to these issues, I am pursuing a formal complaint with the State Bar of California. I hope this review helps others understand the importance of caution when working with Mr. Vargas.

Similar to another review, I found myself in a very difficult situation where I required immediate legal representation after I had been accused of something that I did not do while not even living in the state of California and was in need of an attorney who would fight for my Constitutional rights ...and protect them. Initially, I was extremely nervous and concerned about the overall outcome of my case due to time constraints and the fact that I lived about 1,200 miles away, two states away. Mr.Vargas immediately explained the court process and did not need me present for the first court hearing when asking for a continuance. This saved me both time and money. I never felt “out of the loop” while working with Mr.Vargas. He was very knowledgeable with the law and justice system, provided sound advice, worked quickly, answered or addressed any of my questions or concerns, and updated me regularly. I felt that he genuinely cared for me and was handling my case with the upmost professionalism. Mr.Vargas worked hard to get my case dismissed before it ever got to court, and it was going to, but unfortunately a judge pro tem was appointed due to personal issues with the regular judge. Even with that unexpected event, Mr.Vargas had enough confidence in his work to continue with the court hearing and ultimately got my case dismissed. I can’t even begin to express my gratitude for him and the work that he did. I had many respectable job opportunities threatened due to these accusations, and thanks to Mr.Vargas, I’m able to continue my current line of work while also working toward these great opportunities afforded to me. I HIGHLY recommend Mr.Vargas. His work is extraordinary and I will always refer others to him in the area who are in need of legal support and are looking for a superb attorney to represent them. -A.B.
