Timothy Allen Adams

We hired this special education attorney, Timothy A. Adams, by referral from my son's speech therapist. I was confident that my son was finally going to get his educational needs met because he was being recommended by a professional in the field. He initially came across as very caring and then we ...were shocked by his lack of care in our case and the rapid fire bills that kept coming at us. He charges astronomical rates because of the reputation he built by becoming a board member of special education entities. We dealt with him for only about one year, and when it was all said and done we were under a bill of over $100,000 and nothing to show for it but heartbreak and financial disaster. We thought we were hiring him to save us and our child from a backwards public school system. We have then since done our research and found a small firm that really understands special education law and cares about special needs.

I retained Tim to represent my son,and it was a very simple case so we didn't anticipate any problems aside from getting the district to comply with what was in the IEP. Tim was distant and cold when I met with him. I didn't like him personally, didn't feel much compassion or personality from him. I ...have heard mixed reviews from others, including my friends. He is very aggressive so perhaps that's how he gets the job done.

Tim Adams is probably one of the best things that happened to my family and I. Tim not only has represented us and our daughter over the past couple of years but most importantly, has educated us on issues that we were not familiar with before. He has instilled such confidence in us so that we have b...een able to successfully deal directly with our school district and we only call him when we have questions or there is something we cannot handle. Equally important, thanks to Tim we have become more involved in the autism community and have met wonderful people who like us, have wonderful things to say about him. Tim has been a groundbreaker in the area of special education and has set the bar (high) for other attorneys who do this kind of work. He is constantly asked to do speaking engagements for local support groups and at national conferences. I suppose this website is helpful if you want to get some reviews of attorneys you are dealing. However, the most accurate feedback you can get is from word of mouth, blogs, and message boards that focus on special education law. I see Tim's name come up a lot on these and its always good stuff.
