Prior to opening Sharifi Defense, Ms. Sharifi worked at the Law Offices of Vincent J. LaBarbera, Jr., for three years, where she authored and argued over twenty motions, including suppression, discovery, Serna, and bail motions. Ms. Sharifi aggressively and with meticulous detail conducted jury trials and managed an active caseload of over seventy criminal misdemeanor and felony case files. Previously working at Sacramento District Attorney’s Office and clerking at the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Sharifi fully understands the complexities and requirements for the successful defense of criminal cases.
Ms. Sharifi graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law where she served on the Student Steering Committee of the Board of Directors of the East Bay Community Law Center and worked as an Associate Editor of The Berkeley Journal of Middle Eastern Law. She received her undergraduate degree from University of California at Irvine, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Social Behavior.
Ms. Sharifi believes that most systemic problems in our country are socio-economic and understands that many individuals are not provided adequate services to advance their lives, stay out of the criminal justice system, and become productive members of society. As a criminal defense lawyer with substantive litigation experience, Ms. Sharifi is fully prepared to handle cases of all types, including those involving DUI charges, theft crimes, sex crimes, juvenile crimes, drug crimes, weapons charges and domestic violence. Ms. Sharifi understands that all criminal charges demand an aggressive defense and will fight relentlessly to make sure that her clients receive the best possible case disposition. She has conducted several jury trials, motions, bench trials, and conducted lengthy mediations.
