Excellent , Professeional & Compassionate Attorney

I was recommended to Heidi, and came to her with a wrongful termination and labor dispute with an employer I had loyally worked with for 11 years. This employer formed an additional spin off company, a partnership with another person. The partnership didn't work , the partner's went separate ways bu...t wound up in a legal dispute. I remained friends with both but continued to work for my original employer. I was accused of being a mole for information to the second partner and was suspended. I saw that as a hurtful accusation after 11 years of excellent work and loyal commitment so I decided not to return. The employer turned my suspension into a dismissal. Heidi took my case and was very compassionate and professional. She understood the hurt that I was dealing with but also understood that I wasn't about to be a doormat to that kind of treatment after so many years of faithful employment. She understood that I really didn't want to see these people again and when they decided to make a agreement she was able to accomplish a very fair agreement, I didn't need to go to court and I felt vindicated. I would highly recommend Heidi to anyone that would be in need of her services.

An Experienced, Highly Qualified Professional

Heidi De Groot is an experienced professional who, in my opinion, is well qualified to handle any employment-related matter. Recently, I found myself at a time in my professional life when I required legal representation for a situation regarding my employer. Thankfully, I found Heidi. Throughout the... time she represented me, both she and her staff were readily available, gracious, and responded quickly to advance my case, keeping me informed at all times. Heidi represented me with integrity and discretion. Her knowledge and experience, combined with her professional demeanor and diligence, proved a powerful combination that got me the results I’d hoped for. I’m an extremely satisfied client and can’t thank her enough for helping me navigate uncharted waters and turning my situation into a positive one. Without hesitation I would gladly recommend Heidi to anyone faced with an employee rights-related issue.

Persistent & Sincere

I hired Ms. Degroot for claim against my employer and was pleased with the result. Ms. Degroot gave excellent, seasoned counsel and was empathetic throughout the extended the ordeal. When I needed a follow up on an issue that came up well after our contract ended, she was still quick to respond and t...ook care of the issue. My experience with Ms. Degroot was thorough, persistent, and sincere. I can not recommend her enough.

Gotta hate higher ed

Worked in Higher Education and told by boss I was being terminated because, essentially, I am not politically correct. Offered me six months severance pay. Hind sight is always 20-20 and should have taken the deal. I'm not a member of any "protected" group but Heidi said I had a good case based on br...each of implied contract. Not the way things work. Arbitrator said employer can fire for any reason or no reason, and that's the end of that. Heidi worked hard and did a LOT of background research, but to no avail. Jerks!

Heidi knows her line of business!

I got to chance to speak to Heidi on a consult. She is very well versed in both HR, employer and employee relations. She provided the pros and cons to help me understand the ramifications of my options. Thank you Heidi!!!
