I have been working with Chance Oberstein for the past 1 1/2 years to resolve my unique and complicated case. In 1981 I committed a misdemeanor sex offense that required me to register as a sex offender. After spending years registering as a sex offender, I was told that is was not possible of get a... Certificate of Rehabilitation. Chance not only made it possible, but the certificate was granted. Although My Live Scan indicated that the offense was a misdemeanor, the penal code section indicated otherwise. This was because the penal code numbers were changed in the interim. This confusion caused the District Attorney to argue to disallow the application for Certificate of Rehabilitation. Because it was such an old case all my records in the court had been destroyed and there was no way to prove my case. Chance was able to prove to the judge that the offense was a misdemeanor and convince him to rule in my favor. The Certificate of Rehabilitation was granted and I will no longer have to register as a sex offender. Throughout this long ordeal Chance proved to be a reliable and competent advocate.
