5 Stars for Chance Oberstein (I would give 6 Stars if I could)!

I am compelled to share my experience with Chance Oberstein. A friend of mine is unfairly on the registry for a situation that happened 34 years ago. He has experienced many of the unjust things that most of those on the registry experience. The situation had become so intolerable that he finally dec...ided to do something about it and asked me for help. By profession, I handle the legal litigation of Intellectual Property infringement. I manage individual attorneys and teams of attorneys. Our company is not litigious, but when there is a strong need for justice we will litigate. While every case is different, what remains constant is the importance of attorney selection. We have learned to always hire what we call the “best-in-class” attorney. Thus, we usually prevail. Having 40+ years’ experience selecting the right attorney for the case, I approached this situation in the same way. First I put a list together of all potential attorneys that I found from my dozens of hours of research. I ranked the order of the list with my best choices at the top. Chance’s name came up early in my research; therefore I was keenly interested in him as a possible attorney for our case. He was the first attorney on the list and the last attorney that I called. Instead of first reaching out to the top attorneys on my list, I worked my list from the bottom up. I did this so that I could get some experience before calling my best choices. I vetted my entire list of 30+ attorneys. Primarily I wanted to understand the attorney’s success rate in regard to the specific issues of our situation. I also wanted to know about the attorney’s belief system, core competency and caseload. I had many more questions such as whether or not they were connected to the correct people in the judicial system that would be helpful to our case. I learned how to hone my questions by first calling the attorneys who were at the bottom of my list. By the time I was ready to call Chance I knew, because of my interviews, the exact key questions to ask. We had many conversations. In fact, he gave me a to-do list before he would even allow my friend to hire him. It gave my friend a high level of confidence that he interviewed my friend as much as I interviewed him. In every case that I have won in my past, the attorney or the firm also had a selection process. If they did not, that was definitely a red flag. My friend ended up hiring Chance and we could not be happier. Chance has already helped him navigate through this crazy system. If one does something wrong, such as not following a process correctly, the case can be compromised negatively. Chance has already “saved” my friend from doing that many times over. Chance is thoughtful, compassionate, intelligent, a great listener and well connected in his ability to navigate the judicial system. He was the most knowledgeable attorney in the arena of sex offense that I interviewed and knowledge is power. The fact that he has personal experience in this area gives him a better understanding of what a person goes through and that was a big plus in my evaluation process. I feel my friend has a good case now because of the positioning Chance has done for him.

If I could,I would give Chance 10 stars. After being on the registry for 21 years ,I am now a free person.Chance did an amazing job filling my petition for removal and handled all the situations that can arise during this process very quickly and professionally.Thank you so very much Chance.Chance s...tayed in contact with me every step of the way and always communicated with me how the process was going.Chance always made me feel like I was his only client, that is a very rare trait for an attorney. Chance is very caring and understands all of the ins and outs of the legal system concerning sex crimes and petitioning for removal from the registry. Early Termination and Dismissal

I hired Chance and for an early termination of probation and for a dismissal. The process with the court was not very smooth but Chance was successful in achieving both the early termination and a dismissal. Definately recommend Chance the communication was excellent throughout the process and he ans...wered any questions I had with reassurance.
