One Of The Best Post Conviction Attorneys Out There

Hired Chance Oberstein for a PC 290 related charge that occured several years ago. Like the other past clients that have reviewed Mr. Oberstein, his legal work is impeccable. I hired Chance to help me achieve an felony expungement dismissal. During our initial consult he attentively listened to th...e facts of my case emphatically. He gave his legal game plan on how to achieve the dismissal. It was legally sound. The legal documents he prepared were nothing short of amazing. The judge and DA didn't really have anything to argue against my dismissal with Chance's great legal work. I am forever grateful for Mr. Obersteins relentless pursuit in helping me. He truly is a passionate attorney that really does care about his clients and gives his 110% to help people achieve a favorable legal outcome in this daunting court system. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chance for anyone seeking assistance for post conviction help of a sex related crime or PC 290 issues. Chance Oberstein is one of the best if not the best in post conviction legal service for defendants.

Dreams do come true!

I hired Chance for the purpose of getting me off the Megan's Law website. I needed to get my life back! I consulted with him before to see if i had a chance. He explained to me thouroughly everything and saw that I fell in a catergory of receiving a "Certificate of Rehabilitation". After I thought it... was an impossible battle, he made my dream come true. I still can't believe I'm a free man and not having that burden on me! God bless you Chance. I recommend everyone to take a chance with Chance.

Amazing Attorney!!!!

I was arrested in late 2013 on a 290 related charge. I had no idea what 290 was and I was scared out of my mind. I didn't know anything about choosing the right attorney for my case. I didn't know of any criminal attorneys, so I went online to look for an attorney. I no longer had a computer since it... was seized, and it seemed that every attorney I spoke with, told me what I wanted to hear, but couldn't tell me anything concrete without paying a ton up front. I needed an attorney fast but didn't know who to choose. At the time, time, fear, ignorance, and pride kept me from doing what I would consider as proper research. In the end, I hired the wrong attorney and my case got botched by someone who wasn't truly familiar of the repercussions/consequences of being a 290 registrant. While I was awaiting my trial, I learned of Chance through a counseling therapy session. I heard he was super knowledgeable about 290 cases, but I was too scared to fire my attorney with my trial around the corner. At the time, Instead of a trial, I agreed to a plea deal at the urging of my previous attorney. After agreeing to the deal, did I slowly discover the horrible nature of what it meant to be a 290 registrant. When I mention slowly, that's exactly how I discovered it. The law is so vague and online research so difficult, that it's hard to quickly know what ALL the potential consequences to being 290 will be. Then as time passes, like an onion, the layers of aftermath begin to surface; to the point of where you regret taking the plea deal more than ever, because being a 290 registrant is a life long punishment. Needless to say, I contacted Chance Oberstein in 2014 and he took the time to take my call and explain my situation to me from the eyes of someone who had been through it. He truly knew what I was going through. I later visited him for a consultation to see what my options were. His office is quite far from where I live, over 1.5 hours of driving each way, but in the end, I was glad I agreed to meet him at his office for the consult. He had been able to help focus my fears from what was happening and helplessness, to what I could do about it. In the end, I hired Chance Oberstein for post-conviction navigation and termination of my 5 year probation. Unlike other attorneys, Chance actually continues to respond to his clients after getting paid. He would always return my calls, if he didn't pickup; and on the call, he would be compassionate, sincere, and un-rushed. Whenever I needed to travel for work purposes, Chance would guid me through what I needed to do. Although I knew I wasn't Chances' only client, I sure felt like I was the most important one. Through Chances' knowledge and guidance, the court terminated my probation after 3 yrs instead of 5yrs. My family and I are eternally grateful for Chance Oberstein. I cannot recommend him highly enough. If you or a loved one is in need of a criminal defense lawyer in a 290 related case, you need to call Chance Oberstein. Thank you Chance!

One of the best attorneys you will find. Anywhere.

Mr. Oberstein is, without question, one of the finest attorneys in his field. I retained him to handle my post-conviction relief issue. More than just his vast knowledge of the law, Mr. Oberstein possesses the unique ability to read the currents of the court and to make the critical moves and decisio...ns that position his clients for a better future. I have had the opportunity to observe Mr. Oberstein in a variety of court settings, and he never ceases to amaze me with his ability to make his point with quiet, focused precision. He is always completely prepared for any and all situations and is thus never caught off-guard. I have seen him diffuse antagonistic prosecutors and witnesses and head off potential issues before they can damage his client's position. On top of all of this, Mr. Oberstein is a compassionate person who cares deeply for his clients as human beings. He will not hesitate to go the extra mile for those he represents. Your case becomes his passion, and he will use every tool at his disposal to obtain the best possible outcome.

Unbelievable. A rare find. An amazing outcome.

Chance is one of those rare attorneys who took the time to really get to know me, and came to believe in me. I was facing a potential 25 to life, three strikes case. This was not because of some new serious or violent crime, but because the prosecutor wanted to go back 30 years and turn crimes that... I committed an already served time for into new strikes. But, after a yearlong battle and multiple court appearances, I finally walked out of that courtroom a free man, on probation. The documents and motions, prepared by Chance, were outstanding. It was clear that much thought and time went into the preparation of each phase of his presentations and communications with the judge and with the court. True, nothing is guaranteed. But he stayed optimistic and hopeful even when I'd didn't. He gave me many suggestions as to how present myself to the court, to the probation department, and in the end, we were victorious against all odds. Needless to say, I highly recommend Chance Oberstein. Everyone's situation is different. And there really are no guarantees in life. But, if you are looking for someone who will sincerely invest himself into you, and that your case you couldn't make a better choice.
