TRAUMATIZING EXPERIENCE

I hired Mr. Ibrahim to represent me in my divorce case, specifically regarding child custody and spousal support. After our initial conversation, I never spoke with him again directly. Instead, all communication was handled through his paralegal assistant, Elizabeth. We exchanged emails where Mr. Ibr...ahim and another member of their office were copied, but I never received direct communication from him. The only matter he seemed proactive about was reminding me about the retainer fee. Before my first court hearing, Mr. Ibrahim assigned another lawyer named Jason to represent me remotely. Jason and I spoke briefly over the phone. However, the court did not approve the request for a remote appearance, which meant we were required to appear in person, and Mr. Ibrahim would be the one representing me. Our check-in time was scheduled for 8:45 AM, and the hearing was set for 10:00 AM. I arrived early at 8:15 AM and sent Mr. Ibrahim a message to inform him that I was already there. I also emailed his staff to let them know that I was waiting outside the courtroom. This was my first time in court, and I did not know what to expect. 9:00 AM came and passed, then 10:00 AM, and there was still no sign of Mr. Ibrahim—not even a text message. Finally, shortly after 11:00 AM, he called to apologize and said he had car trouble. When we entered the courtroom, I felt overwhelmed and wanted to cry. My ex-husband was already there with his lawyer seated on the opposite side of the courtroom. The judge was clearly unhappy and stated that everyone had been made to wait. Not only was Mr. Ibrahim significantly late, but it also became apparent that he knew very little about my case. At one point, the judge directed a question to me directly because he could not answer it. I have already paid more than $10,000 for his services, and the most recent invoice I received was for an additional $4,600. In my experience, he did little beyond filing my case and treated the situation as a business transaction rather than providing competent legal representation. That first court hearing was very traumatizing.

I could have gotten the same result without paying so much money.

I hired Attorney John Ibrahim to represent me on my child custody case. I first spoke to John over the phone about my case back in 2019. John spoke in a manner that gave me confidence and reassure me that I could have a fighting chance to win my case. once we started the process I only met with the p...aralegal and started my case, I never received a copy of the order that we started and was reassured that my ex was going to get served within a couple of days from summitting the court order. John's paralegal and John failed to serve her on a timely manner and when we first appeared in our court appointment we had to request an extension due to the fact that my ex did not get served. throughout the times I had to report to court John Ibrahim always doubled book and wasn't available like other attorneys and had to always reschedule. when ever I would call or try to get an update it would take me multiple tries to even respond to me and the only times he fully responded fast was when I was making a payment for his services. I fully understand that there's isn't anything for certain and that I wouldn't get what I was asking for in my child custody case. John Ibrahim did not fight or remotely try to represent me on my case. I would not recommend his services.

Thank you for your feedback. Our office always looks for ways to improve client representation. In this matter, the client had all the makings of a very good case AT THE BEGINNING. In fact, when we started the case, the client was going to get what he wanted. However, as the case progressed, the client failed to follow court orders and failed to follow my advice which caused the children to be placed in harms way thereby resulting in a negative mediator report and a subsequent unfavorable judgment to the client. A client and the attorney must always work together to obtain the goals of the client. This is a team effort.

Calm, honest, knowledgeable

I had decided after my 10 year old daughters father continued time after time to make life hard that I would take him to court and finally get something on paper. I hired John and he traveled two hours away to come to the first hearing. He really gives you peace of mind even if things are a little bu...mpy and unsure, he makes you feel like everything will work out. If at any time I ever had a question he would answer it in a timely manner. All of his associates whom I had to work with were friendly and knowledgeable. Everything worked out just like he said it would and I was awarded sole physical custody. If in the future a family law lawyer is necessary John will be the first person I call.
