My case was changed hands 3 times, over the course of a year and 1/2 until it reached Bobby’s. I had nearly lost all hope of it being resolved. I was being charged on 2 counts dui, I was drunk in a parked car- this was a relapse for me after having been sober for some time. (Most people I knew just t...old me to take whatever the penalty for a 1st time dui was) even though I had not caused the car to move. He called me and asked questions and I could tell he was actually going to work with and for me instead of passing me off before he moved to a new location. He stayed working my case on weekends, and informing me of what things looked like, what they meant and how to handle outcomes. I felt like I had a friend in my corner. He asked the right questions, he handled all the judges, das, and my inquiries in a professional and direct manner. There was no sleaze about this man at all, no pushing from him. When questioning witnesses including myself, his cut more to the core of what actually happened and why, In my particular case, it was or could be reasonably true. I never felt judged by him, I always felt supported and like I was the only case he was handling. Even though I know, that wasn’t the case. His closing argument was passionate and thorough. He stood up for me and referenced the whole case as needed, as well as countered all the das wild accusations which had just been accumulating throughout the case. Adding more things on as the trial went. He was able to not only keep up with him but in general stay ahead, and keep me ahead. The trial went a bit longer then anticipated. The tally on counts had reached 3 that they rolled back into 2. On the first count the hung jury was 10-2 in my favor and on the 2nd count we had a not guilty verdict! There was a ticket trailing these that then had to be accounted for and Bobby showed up again in court to hear the da say they could not proceed with another trial and stayed all day at an office he was no longer working at for me to fix everything at the dmv. So that I could have the ticket trailing reduced to a minor infraction. I’m so grateful my case reached Bobby Waltman and that it wasn’t tried by any previous public defender. I’m certain I would not have had the same outcome. He saved my life. And cared that he was doing so before he even knew what it meant to me. I felt like we won for many reasons but also because Bobby has a real sense of what people are like, how they think and what they are compassionate about. Showed me how to stick to simple facts. While touching on the non relevant and harder to understand topics lightly. I would recommend Bobby to anyone I care for, my family my closest friends and even strangers in a tough spot.
