What was particularly helpful was that Laura walked us through th...e process and had us tackle the items to be resolved in a approachable manner. Knowing that protecting our children was the most important thing for us, Laura first worked with us to establish guardians and backups and helped us understand what each party would do so that we could explain it to our family. Laura took the time to understand our financial goals and structured our Will and Trust documents to reflect those, and ensure our legacy was maintained and our children provided for. Laura helped us contact all of our financial institutions to fund our trust and provided us with specific task lists that kept us honest and made the process much easier to handle. Lastly, Laura offered us a very special service, a family interview documenting our wishes and desires for our children, archived with all of our legal documents to act as a guide for our children and their guardians and also to capture our feelings after going through this process. I always viewed estate planning as a necessity and knew we needed to get around to it. Laura stressed the importance and helped us really own the decisions we were making. many of the items we had to consider were very serious and these discussions can make you feel very mortal. Laura always gave us the time and space to determine our wishes and while she would offer advice and direction, she was never pushy. What continues to strike me is that Laura is a parent first and lawyer second, the perspective she brings is relate-able and comforting. I would recommend her to anyone and would continue to use her services.
