Communication and honesty was the foundation from the start. Emily walked me through the process regarding guardianship and delays that could occur. The entire process took a year, but since I knew what to expect, I planned and stayed positive...the outcome resulted in a win and sense of relief. E...mily is always available for questions or to just talk. Honest open communication and does not hold back even when news is not favorable. I am a 26 year old new mother born and raised in Knoxville Tennessee, i had met my baby's father in California in a rehab. i became pregnant, i returned home and had my baby, before my baby turned 6 months old. i came to California, on a "vacation". i stayed with my baby's fathers, mother. i was na...ive and trusted them. little did i know they had planned to take my baby from me and attempt to keep me in California. They alienated me so i could not communicate with my family, they held me hostage in their home, the father and his mother, physically took my child out of my arms. they lied in California court and said awful things about me that were untrue in attempt to prove me unfit. They have money, and hired a lawyer to blindside me, as the grandmother attempted to get guardianship of my child, they kept my child from me for a month, and tied me up in California court. i came to Emily lost , confused and out of hope, a 26 year old new mom, she told me in the beginning she would get my daughter back and get me home; she did exactly what she said she would do. we had 9 court appearances in a month and a evidentiary hearing on jurisdiction. it became a hearing on my character, Emily defended me, and proved California court had no jurisdiction. She was amazing. She is a real person, and she became a very close friend. I had a ridiculously hard case and she fought it until the end. she showed up to court every time we had to and brought her best . i highly recommend her. if you have difficult case, and have lost hope and see no end in sight, she will bring the light. her and her associates became my friends. they are an amazing team and will work hard to do what is right. Her and her associates taught me a lot about myself, and things i needed to learn to grow up and be the mother i know i could be. They are an amazing group of real people. I am lucky to have stumbled upon her. Without her, i would not have my daughter. I have happily returned home to Tennessee with my daughter where we belong, and am enrolling in school and starting the life i want for my child. without Emily and her team i would be lost in California without my daughter i can never thank them enough.
