Payson Laurence Lederman

Another attorney referred me to Mr. Lederman re: APS and being forced to stay in Orange County. He was extremely kind, caring and knowledgeable. He listened to every concern I had and could not believe what I was told by the system. I recommend this attorney. My brother (age 25) was taken to UCI med center with a diagnosis of catatonia. He had not spoken, eaten, or drank in days. While in the hospital he underwent treatment for his cataonia, showed slight improvements but still would not talk. When ECT was proposed as the next treatment plan, we knew we w...ould have to go though the court system for it to be approved since my brother would not speak. That is when we met Payson. He reached out to my mom and I personally numerous times to explain the process, put us at ease, give us direction and guidance, and support us in any way he could. Without giving too much detail, the court process was long and ridiculous. I never understood how awful our court system is with dealing with mental health care but let me tell you-it is atrocious. Payson did not leave our side, he was reachable at all hours of the day. He was patient and caring when interacting with my brother and after weeks of trials, he won the case. My brother had 8 ECT treatments and is now at home; talking, eating, participating in his care. We have a long road to go until his full recovery but the ECT saved him from going any deeper into his catatonia and brought him back to us. Without Payson and his support, my brother would not be doing as well as he is today. He is an excellent lawyer and I recommend him to anyone!

Payson is very honest and well organized. He was referred to me by a Great Lady and if I can say one word to describe him it would be FABULOUS. He is a busy man but always makes sure I understand what I need to do and when I need to do it. I dont know much about the whole court system including chil...dren custody, but Payson has put much positivety out there for me. If anyone needs him, believe me he is great. Just make sure you can listen and make sure to learn.

This attorney restored my faith in his profession. He literally saved the life of my daughter fontaine Ball who was being exploited by the Orange County Regional Center. I cannot praise this man enough, He is a consumate professional, a devoted husband and father. Payson took my case when no-one else... would and we spent an ENTIRE YEAR fighting for conservatorship against the Orange county regional Center. Every time I speak with him I hear his childrens voices in the background... I have seen him brought to tears reviewing the hardships of clients and people with disabilities. He is an angel. It is seldom in life you see someone doing exactly what they were put on this earth to do, Payson Lederman is doing this . He is literally altering and saving the lives of people who are disabled and unable to fight or defend themselves. It is unfortunate that these battles are necessary, but they are.
