Expensive and unable to produce any significant desired effect.

Mr. Young has a tactic he might not tell you about until after he has already billed you for it. That is what happened to me. He showed up extremely early on the morning of my court date and was the first in line to sign the bailiffs sign-in sheet, and then he requested to go dead last. So, we wai...ted many hours while the judge basically did see everybody else, all the while billing me at his full rate, which isn't cheap. He explained afterwards it gives you an advantage with the judge, since the judge is usually more "easy going" by the end of the day. He argued that when the judge is in a better mood, he will be more likely to agree with you. In my case, it made no difference whatsoever, except for my final court bill being thousands of dollars higher. But this is just one of the many fun ways Mr. Young may "surprise" you. Be very careful with what he puts in front of you to sign, because you might end up like me, sadly and irreversibly filing for the dissolution of my own marriage via irreconcilable differences -- not to forget giving my wife full physical custody of my children. I am now being legally steamrolled in court, no thanks to his subtle fear tactics and shaming. He didn't really make it clear to me what I was signing, but afterwards he offered the excuse that initiating the dissolution is a "power" move giving me the advantage. But, by attacking my lovely spouse first, I gained absolutely nothing except for her completely deserved anger towards me. If I could give Mr. Young a zero star rating, I would. Alas, I am unable to.

Beyond helpful is an understatement

Richard Young was amazing. I don’t know who is leaving these negative feedbacks (they appear to be the same person), but in my opinion there is no truth in any of it. Not only did Richard Young take into consideration my circumstances, he gave me extra time for which he charged MORE THAN FAIRLY. I ...would call it highway robbery on my part but he insisted. He did extra work for me and I didn’t even ask. He was courteous and polite at all times. He helped me understand clearly how the law works. I walked in a very scared woman being financially squeezed by my soon to be ex and walked out w knowledge and confidence to face the next steps, thanks to his kind heart and willingness to spend so much extra time providing what I needed and educating me. He also came up w several back up plans in case one didn’t work out and did a lot of research on my behalf. So with full conviction I highly recommend Richard to anyone that is in a situation where they are being bullied or simply need help. THIS attorney has a heart of gold. He is most definitively not in it for the money. I am grateful to him from the deepest recesses of my heart. Thank you Richard and I hope my review brings people to realize that the law profession needs more people like YOU!

Had to fire him

My divorce case lasted 3 years and cost $30K. At the end, he recommend I settle for $40K less than half our assets, and my ex had a great job and I had none, plus 2 kids to raise (my ex wanted 0% custody). After I fired Mr. Young, I was able to get back the $40K from my ex by representing myself. ...I was also able to get a much higher amount for both child and spousal support by representing myself. Mr. Young refused to give me my documents, which is illegal/unethical, and I had to get another attorney to write him a threat letter to get them back. Also, the whole time, I had the feeling he was keeping things stirred up between me and my ex so that we wouldn't settle, and he could keep the billable hours coming in. He told me that once the support numbers are set, they can never increase, only decrease, which I found out later is not true. If I had know support numbers can be adjusted up after the fact, I would have been much more willing to settle, (but that would have reduced billable hours...) Sorry I can't recommend this man. If you do end up working with him, you will need to check the math yourself if you want to be safe.

Attorney Richard Young

I had big problems with my child custody case at Lamoreaux Justice Center. The judge did a wrong order, and I had to spent so much money trying to fix the problem. All my previous attorneys just robbed me with their bills. They promised me so much and did almost nothing while charging very expensive ...for no reason. At the time when I came to Attorney Richard Young’s office, I was already in debt because of this case and didn’t have much. He said he can settle my case, and charged me only for 3 hours. But I know he spent a lot more hours on my case because my case involved a lot of complications. I know he worked for free many hours on my case. I did feel that he really feels what’s is going on, he cared. The father of my daughter constantly harassed and threatened with anything, he and his attorney would just fabricate reasons to take away my daughter. After Richard Young got involved, all harassments stopped. He did settle the case, and now I don’t need to hire any more attorneys. Attorney Richard Young really knows what will happen if you go this way or the other way, he knows the system and the people in this system very well. He told me how to write a letter to the minor’s counsel that helped. Without representing in front of the judge he settled my case in the right way, and now everything is clear and no more worries from my side. I really appreciate that he cares about my daughter, not about money.
