I am a solo practitioner, so I dedicate the full measure of my energies to each and every case I take on. I will never "hand the case" over to another paralegal or attorney; When I am hired, I am responsible for the entire progress of the matter. I have taken hundreds medical malpractice, major personal injury, and Unlawful Detainer/Tenant Habitability matters through to successful settlements, verdicts, and arbitration awards.
I have handled thousands of medical malpractice, personal injury and landlord/tenant cases over the past 26 years. I have acted as a Judge Pro Tem and Special Settlement Officer with the San Diego Superior Court, during which time I was able to bring the parties together to achieve numerous settlements in difficult personal injury matters. I am presently applying for the same position in Riverside County. I have been appointed as a party arbitrator in malpractice matters involving plaintiffs' claims against their healthcare providers.
The truth is that the vast majority of all litigation matters are settled outside of the courtroom, and the parties are usually better off if they can avoid the uncertainties of a trial. But when the insurance company takes outlandish positions or unreasonably refuses to settle cases, the only option is to go court and try the case. Unlike many attorneys who may attempt to settle a case before the "heavy lifting" begins, I AM NOT CONCERNED OR AFRAID about going to trial if that is what is required to protect the rights of my clients.
I have and will always do everything in my power to zealously represent YOUR best interests.

I e-mailed John Mittelman a few weeks ago, and within 15 minutes of receiving my e-mail he called me and we set a date and time for a consultation. After sharing my story he accepted my case and I am now one of his clients. John Mittelman was very patient and understanding as my case is very person...

To be fair John worked with me on the price, provided advice on how to fill out my own forms and reviewed them for me. however in the end when I went to settlement hearing he didn't accompany me to help me negotiate the settlement. I like John as a person but feel like he wasn't really there for me w...
This client was one of my few hourly clients, and the client would not pay for me to attend the settlement conference in order to save money. I am sorry that my client forgot this and was unhappy with the service I provided. I guess you can't please everybody. Please consider all my other positive reviews to put this one in the proper context. John M

Mr. Mittelman succeded in arbitrating a medical malpractice case. Kept me well informed by showing me the pros and con as to a potential outcome since this was my first experience in dealing with the legal community. He put a human face on what was emotional and physical discomfort and I was most ap...
My dear client is not a huge fan of hyperbole. This review is a wonderful surprise, and the result WE achieved in a very difficult case was very gratifying. THANK YOU, Loretta!

I hired John for a medical malpractice case about 1 year ago....without going into the details, this was the most terrifying experience of my life - not just for me, but for my family. My prior experience with many lawyers had been negative in that I never really felt that they cared more about me ...
I had a wonderful gift presented to me when Ellen came to me for advice. When I took her case, she cried--told me she had been turned down by 7 other lawyers and was convinced she would never obtain justice for the pain and suffering her doctors caused her. Maybe one of my most challenging cases, but definitely one of the most rewarding of my career. THANK YOU, Ellen!

I have used John Mittelman on numerous occassions over the last 4 years. I have had nothing but good experiences and a staunch defender in every sense of the word. I have complete trust in John and have grown to think of him as a friend who continually fights my battles. Leaving me to do what I do be...
Piranhas...yikes, but so true. Representing this client has been an excursion into a new area of law, but the person behind the legal entity is truly one of the most inspiring people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with. Her amazing outlook and efforts on behalf of total strangers motivated me to do more than I imagined I could and to become the very best lawyer I could possibly be. I'm so happy to be recognized by such an amazing person. I am HONORED by this testimonial. THANK YOU!!!
"I endorse this lawyer. Mr. Mittelman is a skilled and respected member of the legal community and a zealous advocate for the rights and interests of his clients."
"John Mittelman is extremely knowledgeable and capable on Medical Malpractice cases. He has years of experience and great knowledge and skil."
"Mr. Mittelman is a generous person, and always find time to help his fellow attorneys. I image that he is even more generous for his own clients."
"I endorse this lawyer. John is a top notch lawyer who provides a focused and caring advocacy for his clients."
"I endorse John because he is more than diligent and hard-working. He's also kind, caring and creative. There are few as good as he is."
"John is a very smart lawyer - a caring lawyer - a lawyer who fights hard for his clients' rights! I personally worked on a very complicated matter with John and he proved himself to be detail oriented, tenacious and very competent. His advocacy skills are top-shelf. I highly recommend John!"
"I endorse this lawyer's work. I have known Attorney Mittelman for aproximately 10 years and highly recommend him for any personal injury matter in California. Attorney Mittelman is very creative, aggressive, and responsive to his clients. He has been able to obtain outstanding results for his clients through hard work, diligence and focused determination. Attorney Mittelman cares for his clients and as a result is always looking at the long term benefit for the client in his results and counseling. Again it is my pleasure to highly recommend Attorney Mittelman."
"Mr. Mittelman is a superior attorney. I have had the good fortune to work with him on a number of cases over the past 10+ years, as co-counsel on medical malpractice and employment matters. He is skilled, detail oriented, smart (highly intelligent), tenacious, compassionate, ethical, and a winner. In 26 years of practice I have met no one whom I would recommend more. He is what an attorney should be."
"I have had the pleasure of knowing John for about 5 years and have no hesitation in highly recommending him to potential clients. John is always involved in his clients’ matters from the first meeting through resolution, whether trial or settlement. He does not bring cases in and have paralegals or others communicate with his clients. John is always available to his clients and is adept at understanding his clients’ concerns, emotions and needs. He is empathetic and fantastic at analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of cases, analyzing and implementing terrific strategies which give his clients the best chance of prevailing on their matters. Unlike many lawyers, John also explains all of this to his clients in an easily understood manner. I have no hesitation unconditionally and enthusiastically referring clients to John."
"I have no reservation in recommending Mr. Mittleman and endorsing the quality of his work. He has always been mindful of his clients needs and circumstances and consistantly places those interests above any others during his representation. He is an outstanding legal advocate."
"I have known John for approximately 5 years through Consumer Attorneys of California. John is a hardworking, smart attorney who goes to bat for his clients and represents his clients fully. I highly recommend John."
