I am a solo practitioner, so I dedicate the full measure of my energies to each and every case I take on. I will never "hand the case" over to another paralegal or attorney; When I am hired, I am responsible for the entire progress of the matter. I have taken hundreds medical malpractice, major personal injury, and Unlawful Detainer/Tenant Habitability matters through to successful settlements, verdicts, and arbitration awards.
I have handled thousands of medical malpractice, personal injury and landlord/tenant cases over the past 26 years. I have acted as a Judge Pro Tem and Special Settlement Officer with the San Diego Superior Court, during which time I was able to bring the parties together to achieve numerous settlements in difficult personal injury matters. I am presently applying for the same position in Riverside County. I have been appointed as a party arbitrator in malpractice matters involving plaintiffs' claims against their healthcare providers.
The truth is that the vast majority of all litigation matters are settled outside of the courtroom, and the parties are usually better off if they can avoid the uncertainties of a trial. But when the insurance company takes outlandish positions or unreasonably refuses to settle cases, the only option is to go court and try the case. Unlike many attorneys who may attempt to settle a case before the "heavy lifting" begins, I AM NOT CONCERNED OR AFRAID about going to trial if that is what is required to protect the rights of my clients.
I have and will always do everything in my power to zealously represent YOUR best interests.

Well, this one means the world to me. This is from my most important client, and the one I've worked with, non-stop the longest with, for 20+ years now. He became my best friend, and without doubt, the very best, brightest, most honorable and creative person I've ever known. THANK YOU for this wonderful testimonial!!!

"I endorse this lawyer's work. I have known Attorney Mittelman for aproximately 10 years and highly recommend him for any personal injury matter in California. Attorney Mittelman is very creative, aggressive, and responsive to his clients. He has been able to obtain outstanding results for his clients through hard work, diligence and focused determination. Attorney Mittelman cares for his clients and as a result is always looking at the long term benefit for the client in his results and counseling. Again it is my pleasure to highly recommend Attorney Mittelman."
"Mr. Mittelman is a superior attorney. I have had the good fortune to work with him on a number of cases over the past 10+ years, as co-counsel on medical malpractice and employment matters. He is skilled, detail oriented, smart (highly intelligent), tenacious, compassionate, ethical, and a winner. In 26 years of practice I have met no one whom I would recommend more. He is what an attorney should be."
"I have had the pleasure of knowing John for about 5 years and have no hesitation in highly recommending him to potential clients. John is always involved in his clients’ matters from the first meeting through resolution, whether trial or settlement. He does not bring cases in and have paralegals or others communicate with his clients. John is always available to his clients and is adept at understanding his clients’ concerns, emotions and needs. He is empathetic and fantastic at analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of cases, analyzing and implementing terrific strategies which give his clients the best chance of prevailing on their matters. Unlike many lawyers, John also explains all of this to his clients in an easily understood manner. I have no hesitation unconditionally and enthusiastically referring clients to John."
"I have no reservation in recommending Mr. Mittleman and endorsing the quality of his work. He has always been mindful of his clients needs and circumstances and consistantly places those interests above any others during his representation. He is an outstanding legal advocate."
"I have known John for approximately 5 years through Consumer Attorneys of California. John is a hardworking, smart attorney who goes to bat for his clients and represents his clients fully. I highly recommend John."
