David Harvey Heisler

Mr. Heisler is a lazy attorney. When I first hired him for my divorce, he promised he would always keep me informed, which he NEVER did. Four years ago, he fired me as a client because I had spoken in court stating facts he refused to present. The judge subsequently ruled in my favor although she was... about to rule in favor of my ex-wife. The reason Mr. Heisler refused to present these facts was he stated they were irrelevant. Obviously the judge did not have the same opinion. Mr. Heisler withdrew just as I needed representation the most although I found that arguing the case myself was preferable to having a bad lawyer. Today I found out that he had not filed a withdrawal with the court nor did he inform me that my ex-wife had filed a new petition to have me pay her attorney fees. His negligence hamstrings me since I cannot get help from legal aide or even hire another lawyer until he files the withdrawal with the court. I called his office today and was told that they do not file a withdrawal or a substitution of attorney unless requested. It's been four years and he abandoned me. Why the delay?

David Heisler spent more time going over his pay structure (the definition of a "True Retainer" and how it is 100% Non-Refundable, even if I change my mind and fire him tomorrow, I'd never get my $3,000 back), than any other topic regarding my divorce. He never informed me of what would be discussed... during meetings with opposing counsel, or the court. He would charge me for contacting his office to ask a question that he should have answered while I was in his office. I will never hire David Heisler again.
