I do not recommend Janis. Her and her paralegals are rude and do not communicate with you as much as they should. Did not achieve anything in my child custody case. She kept giving in to what the other party requested and didn't listen to my wants or goals for my custody case. Due to her lost full cu...stody to joint and my daughter has not been the same since being sent with her estranged father.

Took a very simple "divorce 101" case and milked it for over a year wanting more and more money, making billing errors, losing documents, no communication and still nothing was completed except a list of billing charges with a memo at the end "we need another $1000"....this woman and her firm ought t...o be ashamed of themselves. I finally tired of throwing good money at a lost cause and walked away.

I had very little contact with Janis Hilke and had to rely on contact with her paralegal, Michele. Both were patronizing and talked down to me, accusing me of being emotional. While I kept my composure, I wondered why I was not better informed of my rights and of how the process worked in my legal ...separation. My husband, with his attorney, was allowed to bring his information forward regarding his financial input in the marriage. Janis did not offer information on what I brought to the marriage financially. I felt that that was very basic information that should have been offered on my behalf. My husband would have everyone believe that I took his money and used him-that he was victimized by me. I worked the whole time during the marriage and brought much to the table.
