Civil Rights 30%

Protecting the civil rights of all individuals is at the core of Potter Handy, LLP. Most of our civil rights cases are on behalf of persons with disabilities who were discriminated against on the bases of their disability. We protect your rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act -- from lack of wheelchair access provided in public or private facilities to housing accommodation violations.

Consumer protection laws are designed to ensure consumers are treated fairly by businesses and protected against fraud and scams. Is a giant credit card issuer calling you non-stop? Did someone sell you a product and misrepresent its origin of production or its ingredients? The most accessible accessibility lawyer

Did you hear the one about the lawyer that you can actually like? I didn't think so. Well, probably because you have not heard of Mark Potter and his incredible team. Lots of lawyers claim to be fighting for you, but most all of them are just fighting to get some extra padding in their wallet. Mark, ...being an ADA lawyer is out to fight the good fight with his clients in making an ignorant and inaccessible world more aware and accessible. Sure, the Americans With Disabilities Act was written with the intention of making America accessible for all, but the follow through and observance of the stipulations have been slow, if not completely lacking. Yes, the Department of Justice has a wing set up to handle complaints about entities, but they are so overburdened and understaffed they fail miserably. I have tried going the “civil” and more conservative route of utilizing the Departments complaint process, but to no avail. I had even been told by a representative that I may want to contact a lawyer, because the way the law was set up, real change will only happen with legal action. This is where Mark and his team come in because they know the law backwards and forwards and keep up with all the new changes and precedent setting cases so that your case case receives the most thorough research to obtain the best result, for you and everyone else who needs to access the entity. Mark and his office are extremely responsive, and I almost always receive an immediate if not instant response to any of my inquiries. Because of his expert knowledge, every detail is pored over so your case gets the maximum and most thorough resolution. Whenever I encounter a barrier, Mark and his firm are the first people I think of who can lift the barrier.

Tough and Thorough

Mr. Potter took on very difficult ADA related case on my behalf. He and his staff thoroughly reviewed the information I supplied. Upon review, Mr. Potter took the case and won. Corrections were made, and I accepted an offer in consideration. I think the business involved, will be more inclined to r...esolve issues when first contacted by an individual. Mr. Potter's firm was a last resort for me.

Much gratitude

It's with much gratitude that I give this review to Mark Potter. The professionalism, the communication along with an eagerness to please the client and to follow through with ease is truly commendable. Being disabled, court can be trying, uneasy and uncomfortable but Mark and his colleagues made this... process smoothe for me and not only did I win the case but the opposing side is fixing the issues that were addressed so others would not have to go through with what I did. Thank you very much.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"Mark Potter and his firm provide unmatched legal services to their clients. Mr. Potter and his attorneys stand head and shoulders above other disability rights firms, taking the fight not only to opposing counsel, but to judges unwilling to enforce important ADA provisions."
