Biography
I have been a mediator since 1994, arbitrator since 1983 and have heard nearly 4000 mediations and arbitrations. Because I was a trial lawyer and supervising lawyer with the California Department of Transportation, I have been able to put our varied practice to use in Mediation in the following areas: Tort: Personal Injury, property damage/subrogation. Contract: All types of contract disputes including business disputes and contract interpretation. I have written, reviewed, litigated, arbiitrated and mediated hundreds of contracts. Property: Title disputes, boundary disputes, landlord-tenant, Homeowners Association matters and flood and land subsidence matters including inverse condemnation. Employment: Wrongful termination related to age, race and disability discrimination as well as retaliation claims. Consumer: Consumer warranty by contract and law including Lemon Law cases. Environmental: CEQA/NEPA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, Historic Preservation Act. Agriculture: Issues related to access, agriculture contracts and irrigation rights.
