What do you do when you are 66 years, handed a restraining order, told to leave your house and are now staying at Motel 6? Well, after a short pity party, I decided I needed an attorney. Never having been in this situation I really didn't know what to do. I finally focused my google searches to fam...ily law and domestic violence. This is where I found The Law Office of Kevin Lemieux. They had many good reviews and were not far from where I was staying. I called the office and they scheduled a free 15 minute consultation with Erin Mesa. I spoke with Erin about my case and she told me the Office handles these all the time. Speaking with her was very reassuring and much needed as I was expiring panic attacks. She then explained the rates and how they charge for 20 minute intervals. I also opted to pay for the retainer in monthly installments (which really helps). After a payment schedule was arraigned, Erin went right to work. I told her that I would do anything to get back in my house and that I wasn't the monster I was portrayed to be in the restraining order. I also told her that I wanted this to be as amicable as possible. She then reached out to my wife to see if we could settle this in a friendly manner. After talking with my wife several times, she told me that my wife will probably not seek a permanent restraining. Erin also told me we should be prepared if my wife had a change of heart. I wrote my response to the allegations and Erin wrote them in a legal manner. The week before my hearing, Erin told me that my wife was going to dismiss the restraining order. I was happy to hear this, but I also know that things can change. Well I am so happy to tell you I am now at home.
