Professional and efficient

I had a series of illegal and annoying phone calls from a robo-dial. Kevin helped me document everything, drafted a suit, and quickly settled my case with the company doing the wrong-doing. I was awarded damages in a reasonable amount of time. Kevin was very easy to work with, explain the legal porti...ons in a way that a non-lawyer could easily understand and helped me win my case. I would recommend him to anyone in need of of an attorney. In fact, in an unrelated issue, he provided my friend with a helpful referral. Couldn't have asked for a better attorney.

Got the Job Done

Had a difficult case with custodial parent living out of state. The office informed me what I needed to do to move forward. They had all the papers ready for any scenario the Judge may give us. In the end, the Judge accepted our documentation and things ended well.

No follow up

Unfortunately I will never find out if this attorney is any good or not, BUT by no returning calls nor doing follow up, well, that leaves a lot to e desired form an attorney . My humble opinion…..

Hi David, I don't know who you are, but I'd be happy to chat and try to figure out what happened here. Obviously, we try to get back to everyone who calls. Feel free to send me an email to [email protected] and we'll see if we can help you out, or at least figure out what happened here. Thanks. Kevin

I Cannot Recommend

I CANNOT recommend Kevin Lemieux, APC. As a law school graduate not licensed to practice law in California, I approached Kevin when a TRO was granted to me by a judge. The respondent tried to flip the script, but her TRO request was denied. Kevin commended me on my submission and due to my TRO bei...ng granted, considered our outcome for the restraining order a virtual guarantee. When interviewing Kevin, he conveyed he had ample experience with TROs and restraining orders. In evaluation, he claimed that since I had "done the majority of the work" his fee would be $500.00. He combined my case with the respondents' (mother son duo) case. Kevin did not present a retainer agreement, nor did he draft or present a client/attorney agreement. We could not get the son served, as he evaded process of service. The first reg flag was Kevin trying to charge me $250 for a skip trace that resulted in information literally found on Facebook. The three "hits" I was given were obviously not my POI, a black male 25-30 years old. Kevin's work product produced all white men in their 50s-60s! I had to look them up online to verify they were all incorrect! These were clearly not my defendant! Regardless, Kevin asked me "if I wanted to serve any of them"! What kind of representation is that? Kevin dismissed my witnesses saying we "probably" wouldn't need them. The written affidavits produced he refused to use, claiming" it was hearsay and inadmissable". No professional courtesy when I object to his assertion and in court he refused to admit them. When the respondent submitted this exact evidentiary content Kevin objected with this erroneous claim! The judge had to correct him and directed him to the citation allowing such evidence! This is the very definition of attorney ineptitude! Kevin seemed to go out of his way to sabotage my case! Kevin failed to even make an effort to prove the mother had told her son to harass us, despite numerous videos where son literally said just that! The judge would not grant a restraining order on the mother because of this obvious lack of connection. Kevin's burden of proof was mother was stalking my residence through her violent son! I mean literally legal 101. He failed to even remotely address that! After this magnanimous failure, Kevin disappeared. No follow up, no billing statement, nothing. I contacted my legal insurance and sure enough, the claim was filed by Kevin's office. Because of confidentiality between the attorney and insurance, the insurance would not tell me what Kevin billed. So, I contacted Kevin and inquired. This lack luster experience ended up in a PAYOUT to Kevin of over $2,000.00! Kevin claimed he waited in the court house for over three hours for documents, and billed $150 per hour! Who doesn't have a paralegal or courier for that! He charged the insurance for the work product I had created! I am embarrassed for Kevin being that brazen, utterly shameless. Clearly not sustainable behavior! This experience was void of any aptitude, professionalism or ethics. Clearly Kevin did not earn the money and put more energy into opportunism than into his work product. Kevin moved into a newer, fancier office as I was wrapping up my case! Clearly more a priority than representing my case. I know karma will find it's way back, you cannot behave like this for long, before the public notices.

Hi James, Well, I'm certainly sorry that you feel this way. Obviously, we did not win your case -- sometimes the judge doesn't see it our way. I went back and checked my system and we spent 23.2 hours on your case--and I certainly tried my best. Again, I'm sorry that you feel like this and wish the outcome was in our favor. One thing, in retrospect, that was a good learning moment for me is: you and I never "saw eye to eye" on your case--we had different ideas about what was important and what to focus on. I should have recognized that as red flag; that we were not a good fit as attorney and client. I take responsibility for missing that.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
