True Professional

I went back to school for my RN after being an LVN for 6 years. I worked full time as a single father and LVN while going to school. I graduated from RN school in 2010. The BRN denied my application to take the NCLEX because of my probation status with BVNPT (LVN board) and a prior criminal history (...possession of a substance) back in 2008. I went to rehab, got clean and thats when i enrolled in RN school. My previous lawyer who represented me during my LVN case advised me to wait until all probation was completed with the LVN board and the court system. That ended up being bad advice. To make things worse, the LVN board decided to revoke my license. So 3 years later my probation for everything was done. I applied again to take the NCLEXRN but did not even get a response for more than a year. Thats when i decided to hire a different lawyer. I researched and contacted many firms until I found and spoke to Sam Spital and Associates. Sam then introduced me Elizabeth Brady, the attorney who would change everything for me. She walked me through the process and made it clear that my previous lawyer did not know what he was doing. In the beginning, the BRN would take forever to respond, request documents that were already sent to them and received before, and so on and so on. Elizabeth expected this and played along for a bit, because it takes the board at least 2 months to respond to anything. But it was taking too long now and the BRN was basically putting my life on hold. At that point Elizabeth turned it up and started making calls and doing her thing. All of a sudden, we were corresponding with the BRN much faster. Elizabeth knew that I was a very busy man, and it was hard to gather everything that was needed for the case. But she was patient with me and really made me feel like she was on my side and my side only; she never made me feel pressured. She explained her strategy to me and it made sense...and it worked. I received my ATT that year. The best thing about Elizabeth though is, even though i was embarrassed of my situation, criminal history, and personal history, she never made it feel "heavy". She always reassured me that things were looking up and we were gonna be ok. By doing that, she also reminded me that maybe i wasn't the messed up guy the BVNPT, BRN, and California courts thought i was. In conclusion after being caught with drugs as an LVN, being placed on probation by the BVNPT, getting my LVN licence revoked, a DUI a few months after the revocation, Elizabeth Brady believed in me. She saw that i was a single father of two, caregiver to handicapped younger brother, full time employee, and a person just trying to move ahead in life. She defended me and won. I will be forever in her debt.

Elizabeth Brady did an excellent job

I felt in good hands with Ms. Brady. She directed me to take the appropriate steps, she listened patiently as I expressed myself. Miracle Worker

I cannot give enough stars to my attorney, Elizabeth Brady. I put in extensive research into attorneys who specialize in administrative law and Ms. Brady was highly recommended from several online reviews. I now understand why. One unfortunate evening I made the dumbest decision of my life, whic...h landed me in jail, having been arrested for a DUI. As bad as the consequences of a DUI are for the average individual, it’s worse when you are a licensed healthcare professional. Even worse when your BAC is unbelievably high, and resulted in a collision (no injuries, no passengers). There are horror stories all over the internet regarding the consequences of said actions for anyone holding a professional license in healthcare, first offense or not. I was terrified, depressed and expecting the worst, which would be to have my professional license revoked. The next best option would be that I would have had my license on probation for several years with mandatory drug/alcohol tests 3 times/week, mandatory counseling, mandatory rehab (regardless of whether a substance abuse problem exists or not) and mandatory support groups; which would sum up to greater than $20,000 all said and done. That’s not even counting the fees and fines for the DUI alone. Upon first contact with Ms.Brady, she was sincere, straight-forward, compassionate, non-judgmental and did not try to diminish the gravity of the situation. Ms. Brady initially let me know how the professional Board would respond, step by step, and created a game plan for my case. She gave me advice on things I could do prior to hearing from the Board to show them how serious I was taking this, and that I was taking the proper steps to make sure something like this would never happen again. After my actual conviction, Ms. Brady notified the Board that I was indeed found guilty and followed through with everything they required after that. She communicated with me every step of the way, which decreased my level of terror by leaps and bounds. After over a year of dealing with all this, Ms. Brady delivered an absolute miracle. The Board wrote me a simple citation with a fine (hefty fine, but definitely better than losing my license!) To date, I have not read another story from any other healthcare professional with aggravating factors as bad as mine with this type of outcome. I cannot recommend Ms. Brady highly enough to anyone. Her knowledge of administrative law is extensive and her professionalism and communication are unmatched.

Wendy, RN, BSN

Elizabeth Brady directed and supported me through a most difficult time dealing with the California BRN. She spent a lot of time directly speaking with me, formulating an action plan, and building a strong case in my favor; ultimately having the BRN drop my case. She saved my career, my self respec...t, and now I am free of a complaint that should have never been filed.
