Having practiced immigration law for over the past 12 years, I have the knowledge and experience in a variety of immigration cases, including family-based, investment-based, and employment-based immigration matters. My specific focus of work is on nonimmigrant and immigrant work and investment visas, extraordinary ability petitions, national interest waivers, as well as complex requests for evidence, motions and appeals.

Amazing professional and kind person
I definitely recommend Ekaterina as a professional and also a super attentive person to her client from a human point of view. In addition to the fact that Ekaterina was able to put together a very complex EB-2 NIV immigration case for us, she helped us with all the controversial issues, for example, when we could not pay the fees using the methods presented, Ekaterina offered us solutions through the company. We were successfully approved in the end! We were very glad that we turned to Ekaterina, as we feel that our process went much easier and faster than it could have been!

Good experience getting a green card
Kate and her team did a great job helping me get a green card, although the case was not that simple. Before that, she took care of my O1 visa. J1 Visa Hardship Waiver
I selected Ekaterina Powell as the attorney to represent my family in our J1 Visa Hardship Waiver. Our case lasted over a year and was very stressful with plenty of twist and turns, but Kate was always there to answer my phone calls and emails. Miracle worker
I came to Kate and she was able to personally walk me through my extremely complicated case and get me approved in no time. I worked with another attorney who seemed to base his business on volume vice quality. The lawyer made the sale and after that I never saw him again. Kate wasn't like that she seemed to care about me and my situation more than any other attorney I consulted. If you can get this lawyer, get her. She's absolutely amazing.

Complicated O1A case, successful APPROVAL, amazing experience
Worked with Ekaterina for around 7 months for my O1A (Extraordinary Ability) visa. My case was pretty complicated and I was already denied 1 time before, so Ekaterina had to completely rework my case and she made it extremely clear and well structured after all. She was supporting me and was giving super useful advices within all this period while we were preparing the case. We successfully sent the new application and got RFE. Ekaterina was able to collect and compile detailed answer within recordly short period of time and eventually we've got APPROVAL after first RFE. Would like to extremely advise her as an immigration lawyer. She is responsive, friendly and highly experienced. Also she was pleasant to consult me in several different questions regarding other visas, green card and immigration process in general. That was my pleasure to work with you, Ekaterina. Best attorney I ever seen
I worked with Kate as part of Jacob Sapochnick's law office team. She managed to prepare my O1 visa case. It's very complicated visa and need a lot of work to be done. I was very impressed by Kate's interest and deep dive in to my product. I am sure that to prepare case correctly, attorney should clearly understand what is your product about, understand key features and Kate perfectly coped with this task. It's uncommon for attorneys. Most of them just give you few "minutes" of their time and are not really interested into understanding your product subject. Kate was involved in every detail from the beginning to the end. Also I was also impressed that Kate is always in touch and always reply really really fast and in timely manner. Hi is able to work really fast! It's uncommon among attorneys - typically they are slow and you always wait and wait for news from them. She is real professional and I wish her great career and hope we have a chance to work together once again. I highly recommend Kate!

World-Class Immigration Lawyer
I have worked with Kate on several - all successful - cases, including obtaining my L1, renewing my L1, obtaining a National Interest Waiver, and obtaining a Green Card. She also successfully worked with my co-founder on similar - again all successful - cases. I may not have my Green Card today if it wasn’t for Kate. Working with her has been one of the best personal and business decisions I have ever made. Immigrating to the US can be a long, frustrating process. I met Kate after having my first L1 request refused by USCIS, and my second request well underway of being refused as well. The previous lawyer I had been working with was a great immigration attorney, but was ill-equiped to deal with tougher cases like mine (immigrating to the US as an entrepreneur can be very difficult…). Kate was able to completely turn around the situation. Kate is very experienced in dealing with even the toughest cases. She’s helped me successfully put together my immigration strategy (which Visa to apply for, when to apply and renew, how to approach the Green Card process). She then helped me put together my cases, successfully advising me on what critical information to put forward. Finally, she fought for my cases when UCSIS was uncooperative - citing law excerpts and reminding them the rules which they are legally bound to follow (and often maliciously don't). This last point is extremely important and makes the difference between great and world class lawyers. For all these reasons I wholeheartedly recommend working with Kate.

O-1 visa support from scratch
Ekaterina helped us to get O1 visas (Extraordinary Ability) for me and my business partner within just 3 weeks. Usually these application takes 3 - 6 months to file. She was very professional, she collected all the documents needed, gave us feedback on each and every single one, advised on how to improve and strengthen our application. Extraordinary Ability Visa in an Extraordinary Short Time
I thought it was a mission Impossible but Katherine made it. I had to file an O-1 visa application within 30 days. If we would be late for 1 day, we would have to leave the US, this could pretty much ruin the future of the company we’ve been establishing in Silicon Valley. I had no documents ready for the process and Katherine made my application from the scratch. It was very stressful and I was amazed by how calm and perfectly professional Katherine was and how quick the process of fulfilling the requirements of our application was. Now, thanks to her, our extraordinary ability visas are granted and our startup is quickly developing in the US. I highly recommend Katherine as a lawyer with a great pleasure.

She did what others said to be almost impossible
I worked with Ekaterina on my O1 visa. She was involved in very detail from the beginning to the end. It was said that to get an O1 for people with special skills in business is extremly difficult. She still took on the case and was not only super professional throughout the process but also creative and positive in the moments when I was about to lose the hope. She kept me on schedule and was very responsive in our communication taking into account it was remote process. I would highly recommend her to any professional or startup. Thank you Ekaterina!!!
