John Arthur Simpson

John A. Simpson possesses over 30 years of legal experience and his legal experience includes trials of real estate class actions, real estate fraud, insurance coverage, professional liability, real estate transactions, personal injury claims, professional negligence claims, and the defense of construction actions including representation of developers, general contractors and subcontractors. Mr. Simpson is also experienced in insurance coverage disputes related to the construction practice and industry. His depth of knowledge and legal expertise has earned him an excellent reputation in the Southern California legal community, and his peers have awarded him Martindale-Hubbell's prestigious "AV Rating," which signifies preeminent levels of legal ability and ethical standards.

Mr. Simpson was born in Pasadena, California, and was admitted to the California Bar in 1986. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University and his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the San Diego County Bar Association, and Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.

After graduating from law school, Simpson spent several years with Edwards, White & Sooy before founding Simpson Delmore Greene LLP with partners Paul J. Delmore and Terence L. Greene. Together, they have developed a practice combining their specialties into a firm providing an array of legal services to individuals, the business community, and the construction and insurance industries.

Mr. Simpson focuses in legal consultation and litigation, and he has acted as mediator, arbitrator, Judge pro tem, and expert witness. He has tried more than 50 cases to verdict from Contra Costa County to the San Diego County Superior Court's southern outpost in Chula Vista. He has mediated and arbitrated hundreds of disputes throughout the state with a high degree of success for his varied clients. Mr. Simpson's noteworthy successful results include several multi-million dollar real estate fraud claims against a local realtor; the defense of a 175 home construction defect trial against a San Diego-based development company; defense verdicts in several personal injury matters against Southern California's largest pool builders; a defense verdict for a Santa Barbara soils engineer in a professional liability matter; and several lawsuits involving injuries arising from construction sites and auto accidents.

As is the case with the overwhelming majority of lawsuits, most are resolved through settlement, and Mr. Simpson has had a high degree of success in garnering successful results for his clients by informally resolving their disputes. From high profile wrongful death matters to the smallest contract dispute, his clients have benefited from his expertise and his approach to handling each matter, which is tailored to fit the circumstances of the dispute and the needs of each client.
