I was born and raised in Chula Vista, in San Diego County. I am the first generation in my family born in the United States. I am very grateful to be able to practice law in the United States. I love my career and I love helping my clients.
In 2005, I graduated with honors, and as a recipient of the Engelhorn Family Scholarship from the University of California, San Diego, with a bachelor’s degree in political science. In 2009, I graduated from California Western School of Law and am a recipient of the California Western Biodiversity Scholarship.
During law school, I was a law clerk at Friestad Law Firm, Emrich & Associates, Horton Oberrecht Kirkpatrick & Martha, and Troutman Sanders (formerly known as Ross, Dixon & Bell). Each clerkship focused on a different practice area, and gave me a wide knowledge base. More importantly, it prepared me for the day when I would open my own law firm.
In 2009, I opened my own law firm, Gutierrez & Associates. In 2012, I was named one of San Diego's Top Young Attorneys for 2012 by the San Diego Daily Transcript. I was nominated again in 2013 and 2014. In 2015, I was voted Top 5 (attorneys) for the San Diego Union Tribune's "Best of 2015" for Bankruptcy Law. Today, Gutierrez & Associates is an interdisciplinary team, combining different disciplines to offer more solutions to today’s most pressing legal problems. We have an impeccable record in our community. We represent clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy; clients facing foreclosure and/or evictions; Clients seeking to reestablish their credit; and Clients who wish to protect their assets through estate planning. Stated differently, we help clients save their property and protect their property.
For me, the past five years of practice have been incredibly fulfilling. Looking forward, I am determined to become a certified specialist in bankruptcy and to welcome other associate attorneys to my firm. I also hope to mentor other young attorneys the way my mentors so selflessly mentor me.
I am a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, Lawyers Club of San Diego, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the National Association of Professional Women, and a volunteer lawyer at the Professional Alliance for Children: an all-volunteer charity comprised of local attorneys and financial professionals who provide free legal and financial advice to families caring for a seriously ill child. If that is your current situation, I can provide you with more details.
