As with all family attorneys you better manage your attorney. This firm, and Carlos, will run up the bill! He is an incredibly egotistical and unprofessional attorney. If things don’t go his way he throws a tantrum akin to a child. The fact that he is a managing attorney is flabbergasting, until... you realize the firm is all about the money. He will sell you down the river with opposing counsel the first chance he gets. He showed up at a hearing asking me why we were there! He is intelligent but once his fragile ego is wounded he capitulates. During the initial consult he represented himself as complete superior to opposing counsel and would make quick work. Instead he got completely humiliated in the court room, even having the advantage of statue and case law, and lost. He lost an objection that has years of case law and Supreme Court precedent, Inexcusable. After that it was all down hill and he essentially gave up and wanted me to agree to a completely one sided settlement. Don’t walk, but run.

Every good lawyer will convince you they are the best lawyer while you're sitting in their office paying them, Carlos backs it up in court. Three times my ex took me to court and three times Carlos won for me (the ex used two different lawyers and both lost during the three hearings in question). ... One of the hearings required Carlos to do extensive research of bankruptcy laws. Not only did the court find in my favor after hearing Carlos' argument, the court also determined my ex owed me lawyer fees also. Carlos was recommended by base legal at MCAS Miramar. He is extremely aware of, and accommodating to, military personnel's needs and sacrifices. I could not be more appreciative of Carlos and his interpersonal skills.

Carlos did an outstanding job handling an extremely difficult divorce. He is bright, articulate, experienced, and principled and has an almost instinctive ability to spot dishonest testimony. For potential clients unfortunate enough to need a divorce attorney, I cannot praise his abilities and conduc...t enough. Note that he does not make legal recommendations lightly. If Carlos doesn’t buy it, he will not present it to the court. I strongly recommend following his advice. I made the mistake of not following his advice once, and that was a mistake I did not repeat. My advice would be to think very hard before deciding to go against his guidance. In fact, don’t do it. Follow the instructions you are paying him to provide and you will be better off for it. His presentation in the courtroom was clearly the result of thorough preparation and mastery of the case facts. When asked, he attributes his successes to only bringing matters before the court that are meritorious. During our initial interview, Carlos questioned me about the general conduct of our marriage, what led me to seek a divorce, and the accusations that my wife was threatening to make. He asked me a number of questions that seemed at the time to be almost irrelevant, but he was persistent and thorough. As I found out later, EVERYTHING Carlos asks about is relevant. His ability to discover the truth (and, just as important, to ferret out lies) is the result of focused homework. He is purposeful, organized, and prepared, which results in him being highly effective. Carlos’ team, his associate attorney and legal assistant, were an integral part of the entire process. There were many moving parts to my case, and they were a valuable help throughout. There is no doubt if I had hired another attorney, I would still be embroiled in litigation. He was efficient as well as effective, and I believe that his approach saved me time, money and tremendous frustration.
