My name is Mo T. I’m currently a student, studying to eventually get my masters degree in engineering. I have grown into a thoughtful and exceptional individual. In the past, when I was younger and not at full potential, I had a couple of incidents with the Law. These incidents could of put my life t...owards a very bad direction that would of been hard to come back from. I'm just glad I had someone great and trustworthy to be there for me. My first incident took place right after I turned 18 years old. At this point it was very dangerous that I was charged with three serious felonies and two misdemeanors. The reason for that is I would be getting charged as an adult. I was very nervous during this time so I reached out to a very close friend of mine, for some help. My friend provided me with Attorney Akel’s information, so she could provide me with some legal services. After I got in contact with her, she immediately had me meet her at her office. From the start she was very helpful, and provided me with such good help that my mind was stress free after weeks of stressing over this matter. With most of the problem still ahead of us, she helped me and provided me with the best legal services, every step of the way. When everything was said and done, all my serious felony charges that would have included years in prison all had been dismissed and only had to plead to a simple one count of misdemeanor (Disturbing The Peace) with one year of informal probation. I was VERY satisfied with her work and always thought about where my life would have been if I had gone to prison for the three years that I was facing. Few years past from this incident where I was doing good and I had recovered from the financial hit that I got from my court fees, and probation fees from my last case. As I was living my regular everyday life, I happened to be part of a case of being at a wrong place, at the wrong time. I was with few friends that had illegal items in the vehicle. As we all went to jail, we all post bail. After a day, all my associates had gone out on bail except me. I found out that there was an INS hold on my bail because I was not a U.S. citizen. Thus, with such felony charges, I was facing jail time and deportation. I would have been deported to a country I never resided in. I was extremely terrified, hopeless, and at the lowest point of my life not knowing what to do. I immediately once again called Attorney Areeg Akel as soon as I got a chance to make a call. As soon as she was off the phone with me, she lifted the INS hold on my bail. Next she got me out of jail, and with in four weeks she had my U.S. Citizenship, thus making deportation no longer a threat or my worst fear. We attended court with me as an American Citizen, so the deportation was out of the picture. By the time the case was done she once again only got me a simple misdemeanor and one year of informal probation. No Jail, No Deportation, Obtained my U.S Citizenship, and NO Felony charges on my record. Attorney Areeg Akel’s absolute success in both of my serious criminal cases and prevented my deportation has allowed me another chance and a positive path to my future. Since then, I have changed my life around. I have learned not to do any activities that could put my loved ones and I in danger. I'm just glad that I had such big help and support of an amazing, passionate, aggressive, experienced, loyal and great lawyer to be able to help me immediately in a situation that most other Attorneys could not have done.
